Lakeside Cottage is a new (2021) architect-designed 2800 sq.ft. five-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath pet-friendly home located 15 minutes from Cedar Point on the south shore of Lake Erie less than 5 minutes off of State Route 2.
The features of the house are unmatched, including its location less than 40’ from the water’s edge and a second floor deck with panoramic views across the water. The open floor plan offers views of the lake from the back of the house to the front. The kitchen, dining room, pool table area, bar, breakfast alcove and living room all flow together and participate in the dramatic lake view. A second level gallery space with central stairway leads to bedrooms, laundry room and deck.. Sleeping quarters include one bedroom on the first floor and four more bedrooms on the second floor.
There is also a business center, with desk, HP printer, paper and large monitor that can be connected to your laptop. (an HDMI cable comes out of the screen with a converter to mini display port cable added to that.)
The house is decorated throughout with nautical flags, celebrating the language of the sea and the close connection of the cottage to the water. Simply designed on the outside to blend into its historic neighborhood, the inside is dramatic yet extremely functional. It focuses on views of the lake, user convenience and personal comfort in an atmosphere enhancing its unique nautical environment. Amenities include a tankless water heating system to provide a continuous supply of hot water to the showers and washer, a kitchen with all-new appliances directly adjacent to the dining area and bamboo flooring throughout the ground floor.
The bedrooms include two larger lakefront rooms with queen beds, water views and direct access to the deck. They feature their own wall-mounted Smart TVs and lounge chairs. Two rear bedrooms, complete the upstairs; one with three twin beds and the other with one twin and one twin-over-full bunk bed. The convenient ground floor bedroom has two twin beds. In addition, the open plan ground floor contains three fold-out sofas that convert to twin beds and an available twin-size inflatable mattress.
For convenience, the house is designed so that no bedroom is more than 11’ from a bathroom and no bedroom shares a wall with another bedroom. Besides disinfectant hand soap, the shower and bath facilities are provided with body wash, shampoo and conditioner, though visitors are welcome to supply their own.
Outdoor amenities include a ground-level lakefront outdoor deck with grill, umbrella and lounge seating along with access privileges to two nearby private beaches. A convenient outdoor shower is provided to remove sand after a day at the beach.
The site can accommodate four cars with regular parking and up to six cars with tandem parking.
Last but not least: your dogs are VERY welcome!
