Minke Whalers cottage was built in 1926 by Mr Francis Langridge who walked from Melbourne with his family looking for work.It was built from local hardwood cut on site and forms a pair of the original,Historic Whalers cottages on Cyrus Street.
The cottage has been recently restored & offers all the modern comfort & styling you would expect.
The whale watching season is also a great time to visit. Don't miss this spectacular annual migration of the Humpback Whale in the pristine waters of Jervis Bay Marine Park. "Minke" has a special arrangement with Dolphin Watch - discount vouchers are available.The Northern Migration runs in June and July, the Southern Migration from late August to end November.
Hyams Beach is the jewel of the Shoalhaven and acknowledged as one of the world's most beautiful holiday locations. The magnificent sweep of beach is celebrated in the Guinness Book of Records for possessing the whitest sand in the world & the cottage is located in the centre of Booderee national Park.
The cottage is not suitable for children or pets.
The bedroom and lounge windows face the Bay and views are also visible from the front verandah and expansive side deck. There are large slider doors between our eat-in kitchen and deck. The many colourful birds are prolific in the area, as are the dolphins in the Bay & regular sighting of Kangaroos in the surrounding Booderoo national park ! We have an extensive selection of games & books available ,TV and DVD player.
Confirmed bookings require 50% deposit (direct debit transfer )
Balance of tariff (plus $300 refundable security deposit) is due 21 days prior to stay after which the address & access details to the cottage will be provided.
A full refund less 10% administration costs will be made if cancellation is notified 2 months prior to date of booking.
A hundred metres from Minke is the village's popular and renowned cafe with excellent home cooked breakfasts, lunches & evening meals.
