Do you love nature and need a peaceful getaway? How about a place for your fur baby to be free in nature?
Group camping or Solo glamping Retreat property … Located in Calaveras County just outside of Mokelumne Hill & Mountain Ranch gold country on the back side of Murphy's and Arnold our Cozy Cabin offers 5.5 acres of an outdoor escape to enjoy your drink of choice next to a warm camp fire or inside next to the wood burning stove.
Unplug from the screen and enjoy family time over a board game or hand in cards. Cell towers provide phone & internet access, but there is No WIFI.
Close by river day use access in Jackson at Vaught’s Beach on Electra Rd. or in Clements on N Mcintire Rd. Both provide bathrooms, parking, picnic options and access to Mokelumne River for lounging, kayaking, rafting and water play. Close by lakes for fishing, swimming, picnics, etc. include Camanche, New Hogan, Emery Reservoir and New Melones. We are on the back side of Murphys, Arnold and Angels Camp if you like to explore wine tasting and stroll around. Our town Mountain Ranch has Saturday afternoon craft fairs, occasionally car shows, farmers market, etc. There are also small historic sites nearby in Cave City, Mokelumne Museum, and old town San Andres with a Saloon and performing arts theater.
Cabin is small but offers ALL needed accessories: kitchen supplies, campsite amenities like a fire starter, smores sticks and choice of Weber or gas grill, Mr coffee pot with filters and sugar, and several family activities, both outdoor and indoor, to unplug from technology like books, puzzles, magazines or just zone out in the peaceful environment and watch the wildlife come to eat and drink. There are two outhouses, a small hand washing sink, an outdoor shower that gets hot and steamy, and surprisingly a nice treat. Sometimes, many guests' favorite part is the outdoor shower.
There is a TV with 1000+ DVD movies to select from, and there is a cell tower nearby for cell service so that you'll still have contact with the outside world. There is also a projector for outdoor movie watching.
The property is in the heart of the Butte Fire that passed in 2015. You’ll see firsthand how close the fire came to so many homes and marvel at the regrowth over the past years. The property itself is an adventure. Our property goes back another 2.5 acres behind the top sitting area that’s being cleared from the fires you can explore. We also built a treehouse platform sitting area to enjoy coffee or zone out that faces the creek.
We have an additional campsite on the property that has its own fire ring and chairs for tent camping/camper van set up, but just a bridge walk over the creek to main sitting area that guests over the standard 6 can use for an additional fee of $50 per night.
Inside the cabin: One queen-size bed and one full-size blow-up mattress with bedding provided. Dog bed, electric heater, wood burning stove, wrap-around table that can sit 4-6 guests, stove, microwave, and small refrigerator.
Outside you’ll find different areas to relax, a treehouse platform to enjoy morning coffee, swings, toss games, and hammocks out in the summer.
All you need are groceries, and we have a store on the way you can do that on the way called Senders in Mountain Ranch. Where you’ll find local wines, big ribeye steaks cheaper than the Bay Area, a Deli with great sandwiches, and anything you can think of they have it plus the extra nik nak if you wanted a souvenir. There is also a local bar to play a game of pool, grab a bite and watch a sports game. During the summer on the weekends, there are also local farmers market vendors.
We really love this place and come up every other weekend to clean, split wood, clean fallen trees and enjoy nature. We try to keep the price low, so others can enjoy getting away too. We ask that you treat it like your home too 😊
