This was such a treat and by far the least expensive place we have stayed on our whole Japan/Korea journey. The owner was amazing and went out of u hi is way to make everything wonderful. You can tell he takes great pride in his business and he treats his guests amazing. I am so glad we chose to stay here. I HIGHLY recommend this place. The village is very nice as well. It is like you are transported back in time.

Samnakheon was such a lovely and spacious hanok to stay in! We got the Summer room and loved every bit of it, from the incredible hospitality and friendliness of the owner and staff, to the cleanliness and modernity of the hanok - which made it a joy to return to every day. Having an ensuite bathroom also makes things much more convenient. We only had breakfast in the hanok on one of the days, and the owner was kind enough to cater to our changing requests as we changed breakfast plans a couple times. The breakfast was a simple fare but made with lots of love. We also faced issues with the wifi connection, and they were quick to fix it the next morning. Would love to come back to Samnakheon again the next time I visit Jeonju!

The Hanok is ABSOLUTELY beautiful! Excellent location! The hosts were amazing. They warmly greeted us, immediately sat us down, showed us a map and told us what to do, where to go and what to eat! They made us a wonderful Breakfast both mornings. I was touched as our train left very early yet, they woke up early to make us breakfast and ordered a taxi for us. 10/10

The stay was amazing. Came here with my husband to experience the traditional home style. The place was clean, organized and super cute. I have a very certain phobia about restroom being dirty, however, this place provide super clean private restroom. The owner was very welcoming, recommended us where to go and what to eat. Every morning the owner served a cute breakfast. I will definitely come back next time i visit.

It's right in the middle of the village so super accessible. It was really clean with simple breakfast each morning. You could see how well kept the place was from your first step in. Owner was friendly and helpful giving us tips where to go and what to eat. His wife owns a hanbok rental with good quality and beautiful pieces. Price was very reasonable. She does your hair and makes sure your are presentable top to toe including right shoes. Even did a mini photoshoot for us. Helped us to flag a cab to the train station on our last day as we can't speak Korean. Highly recommend.

Beautiful cosy place
The owner is so nice, the hotel very cosy, the atmosphere so romantic. She prepared delicious breakfasts also very early in the morning of our last day of stay as we had to leave at 7.30 am. The position of the hotel is fantastic, we had no car but it wasn’t necessary. The owner spent a lot of time to suggest trips and restaurants. Everything was very cleaned and comfortable. We really recommend to stay there, we will go again for sure. We enjoyed a lot everything!

Because we never stayed at a Han-ok (traditional Korean house), we had ambivalent feeling about staying in Sam-lock-hon (easy to pronounce this way), which means three-blessing house. The three blessings traditionally include having healthy parents and siblings, no shame or guilty thing toward others, and having bright disciples. When we stepped through its gate, we became realized that we made a right choice. We enjoyed three types of joy before, during, and after our stay at Sam-lock-hon. As a former international tour guide traveling different parts of the world, I would highly recommend Sam-lock-hon for the following reasons. First, the hosting lady was extremely kind and knowledgeable. We arrived Sam-lock-hon late and she patiently waited for us and prepared for our arrival. And she gave us the information about “must-see” and “to-do” lists in the Hanok Village that only locals know. Second, the room (ours was “Winter”) was very clean. Winter was like a three-story house because of a top attic and a small 2nd floor. I was traveling with my two teenagers and they really enjoyed their own “floor” or space. If you travel with teenagers or little older kids, they will love the set up. Third, the location was the best spot in the village. It was located at the heart of the entire village, connected to narrow traditional paths, and offers a very convenient and instant access to its romantic and peaceful atmosphere at night. I will definitely stay Sam-lock-hon again.
