In this modern studio, you'll have unobstructed, picturesque sunset views over the Pacific every evening while the waves crash at your door. I am happy to welcome guests of all orientations, ethnicities, religions and backgrounds!

*PLEASE NOTE- THIS UNIT IS A STUDIO, if you require one or more bedrooms, this may not be the unit for you. If you are content with direct oceanfront, and modest space for two tidy people, and love sleeping to the sound of crashing waves- this unit is perfect for you!!

Magic Sands has two amazing things going for it that you can’t get anywhere else in Kona: Next to one of the most fun beaches for bobbing in the waves or boogie boarding, and host to Magic’s restaurant, probably one of the top five on the island. Magic’s may be one of the pricier eateries on the waves, but Magic Sands is priced right for what you get. Modify your expectations. You get a comfortable bed, reasonable kitchen and bath, and some elbow room in the main area of the studio. The common areas are, well, dated and faded. But the pool is great. There is a community grill that works fine and the paid laundry is a welcome amenity for travelers. One or two downsides. This unit is on the ground floor, exposing it to all the goings-on in the parking lot and on the lawn next to the ocean. Lots of families with young kids were there during my stay, all playing various games literally inches from the condo. Magic Sands beach is popular with tourists and locals alike, so there is a good amount of traffic on the street outside. The noise can get loud at times. There is no AirCon in this unit…fine by me, if you know how to manage mauka and makai breezes…but not everyone’s jam. Just be aware. Again: this is an excellent option for travelers wanting to spend quality time in Kona but not pay a fortune to do so. I’ve stayed at Magic Sands three times in the past few years and every time I return I’m glad I did. You can’t beat walking 40 steps out your front door into the ocean.

A gem on the waves
Staying here was better than expected, waves outside, crashing against the rocks and the perfect size for two people, location is fantastic, I would highly recommend it to anybody that does not that want to not have the big hotel experience. Loved it and will plan to stay again for sure!

This property was a great location next to Magic Sands Beach and on a main street. We were disappointed in the cleanliness of the unit. No washcloths or dish rags were available so we bought some and left them. After mentioning this to host they did drop some extras off. The place could use an update. On the positive side the bed was the most comfortable we have slept in and going to sleep and waking up to the ocean was wonderful. The view was beautiful. Well worth it!

It is steps from the parking space. A nice quiet property ideal for couples. The pool is nice and chilly. The apartment was very clean. The ocean can be heard very loudly all day and night which was amazing! Really isn’t stocked with any cooking basics (spices etc) so come prepared. Cookware is there though. We didn’t have any washcloths to use so either they forgot to restock or BYO. There’s two beach chairs and boogie boards available to use. Be aware that magic sands beach isn’t very swimming friendly because the waves are very strong & it’s rated one of the most dangerous beaches in the islands. But you are a short drive to lots of beaches in either direction. And if you want to sun or sit and read it is perfect to be right next door. We would stay again in his specific unit for sure !

The minute you open the door, you will see the ocean, hear the waves crashing, and think “wow this is even more gorgeous than the photos.” The property owner is super helpful but also hands off, making your stay feel very private. The condominium has a beautiful and well maintained pool, easy and accessible parking lot, very nice employees, and a super delicious restaurant right next door. It takes 10 seconds to walk down to the beachfront. The owner provides all the necessities you need for a beach or pool day. We would absolutely stay here again and can recommend it to everyone.

We had a very nice stay. The best part of the condo is you are 30 feet from the braking waves so the sound is fantastic. Makes for a really nice sleep with the breeze coming in and the waves. The parking is right outside the door and a sand beach about a 1 min walk away.

Right on the water. This condo has almost everything you need. It is small so be prepared. Bed is comfortable. There is no oven, only a toaster oven. The owner has many special touches, detergent for laundry. Comfortable chairs to take to magic sands to watch the body surfers, coffee—- just to name a few. Owner was very quick to respond. Mahalo! We will be back!

Let me first start off by saying the view from this main floor unit is absolutely amazing....with that i will start by saying if you do not plan on spending that much time in the unit (it's Hawaii, who really does anyway) and you don't have much luggage, it's a perfect little space..very close parking, a rocks toss to one of the best beaches for waves... a convenient restaurant is also attached to the "complex"...the unit has a cute little kitchen as you can also see in the pictures..overall my bestie and i had a great time..just understand, it is very very small and could use some paint and updating..the complex was doing some construction and the manager was so sweet and left us a greeting card with a $50.00 gift card for the adjoining restaurant..
