A PIECE OF THE SEA,,,,

Hello! And thanks so much for your interest in our Sas-sea at sea. Also, please make sure that you've read the description thoroughly! BOAT STAYS ANCHORED. Our Sas-Sea at sea is an older boat, but she has all the systems/functions that you'll need to have a great stay! We will mention, that if your picky, high maintenance, or needy, that this may not be the adventure for you, but that there should likely be a Hilton or Marriott down the road for three times the price, that will have a mint on your pillow for you :-). Furthermore, this adventure has proven to be most satisfying for kids 60 and under :-) The boat is located about 3/4 mi away from the base marina. She's anchored in a beautiful cove, where often times you will have Manatee and dolphin come to say hi!! She has an abundantly stocked galley, with various seasonings, Olive oil, coffee, filters, etc.. the generator on the boat will supply ample power for whatever you required to cook, ac, coffee, toaster oven. It's design however, is not to run 24 hours a day. We supply you with 8 hours/ day, of run time on the generator, anything in excess of that we leave up to you to cover expenses for. That, helps us keep our costs down, translating into a much cheaper stay for you!!! The Captain's quarters, in front of the boat, offer a comfortable queen size bed for your hrs of shut eye :-) The bathroom has a camper type porta- potty, and shower for rinsing off ( not heated), however there are hot showers back at the base Marina. the boat has a nice stainless steel grill on the back, for you to enjoy cooking your favorites on) included with the boat, comes a double kayak, or for a little extra, let us know, and we can reserve a dinghy with motor for you! ( please see description pictures). Thanks again for choosing our boat, where you can look forward to spending a relaxing, decompressing time on our Sas-Sea at sea!!! cheers!! Fyi, we also offer greatly discounted sunset/eco tours and Beach / backwater fishing outtings on a 21' deckboat:)! see ya soon!!
address is 299 Morris Ave, Pelican kay Campground btw.

Simply put, we set out looking for an adventure and that is exactly what we got. Personally, I am of the persuasion that it behooves all humans to read the " fine print" I mentioned this because Mark does a phenomenal job regarding his disclosure on what to expect. My very first conversation with him prior to our arrival , clarified all I needed to know. During our talk we discussed how " nothing is perfect " neither him or myself. However, we were in agreement that in life there are indeed perfect moments. That said, we absofreakinglutely experienced some supercalafragilisticexpialidocios moments. To be specific, sunsets & sunrises from the Sas-Sea were breath taking. My suggestion is if you're considering doing this , that you keep in mind the old adage "To each thier own". Me & my partner love the outdoors, love camping . IMHO this is "Glamping" only on a boat. Boy/Girl Scout rules apply "BE PREPARED" & Better to have it and not need it than to need it & well lol be sh*t outta luck . Also , again as Mark clearly mentions on his listing PLEASE READ...If you're expecting the Hilton....then stay there. I feel It's really important that you're aware.of what this experience offers & what it doesn't. Knowledge is powerful & the only foolish questions (* are the ones.you choose not to ask) Call first, talk to Mark, prior to booking. This will save both the renter & rentee a lot of unnecessary grief. Again within minutes of speaking with Mark I knew we wouldn't be disappointed

The boat was comfy and located in a peaceful cove. If your adventurous, and, like the description states, not expecting the Hilton, you'll love it. Oh, and if your exceptionally sensitive to mosquitoes, a good number of them found us. There's bug spray on the boat, but may want to bring some of your own too. Our host Mark was very responsive, and helped to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises!

Pirate life! Spending a night on this boat was really unique. The bay is very peaceful, and the sunset/sunrise were impressive. For an adult of average height, the water is shallow enough to touch the bottom. Read the description before booking, because this is more rustic than getting a hotel room. As campers, this was right up our alley. The host left bug spray and drinking water on board for us. I suggest upgrading to the dinghy if you have familiarity with small water craft, it’s just faster and more convenient than the kayak. All said, very pleased with the experience and I plan to book again in the future.

Great host. Unique experience for Mom & Son trip. Peaceful & picturesque
We enjoyed 2 nights camping on water, away from people, among a handful of other boats, very generously distanced. It’s quiet and peaceful in a mangrove alcove, a 5 minute dinghy ride between the boat and main campground dock, bathrooms, shower, laundry, parking. Get the dinghy. It poured the day before & morning of our check-in. As with camping be prepared. I packed picnic blankets with plastic on one side, cloth on the other, flip flops/slides to wear on the boat. While the microwave & double burner stove were not functional, we did have a toaster oven, single burner electric hot plate, and a round propane grill. Electric is generator powered. The boat needs a small heat safe table on the deck to place the grill for cooking and offer a place to eat/drink on deck. Mark supplies gallon bottles of water, cooler/ice for cold food storage - so limit your perishable food on board. A Walmart is on the way down US 1, and a Winn Dixie & Family Dollar about a 10 minute drive below the campground to restock as needed. The boat’s camping toilet and shower room are clean. We did not use the shower. Tips: Pack an “overnight bag” for the boat don’t bring entire suitcase aboard. Bring mosquito netting (3 if using all 3 beds), mosquito “zappers”, camping lantern (solar powered), rope to create a clothing line above deck to hang/dry items. Host Mark is super helpful and communicative & wants guests to have a great time, just respect his boat. My 15 yo son loved the dinghy! Thanks Mark!

Weather cancelled
The rating is really not appropriate since we were unable to stay at all. A significant rain storm forced us to cancel and there was no availability to reschedule for the next day so we lost our payment. Mark was kind, and certainly can’t control the weather, so just be aware this adventure is at the whim of Mother Nature.

Unplug and Enjoy the Sunset!
Manatee Mark exceeded every expectation! Definitely the Host With the Most, Mark was kind and accommodating (and beyond) allowing us to truly enjoy an off shore break with reality like we had never had before. The water was perfect for a dip off the end of the boat. Enjoyed a grilled, boat top dinner and wine while watching the sunrise. After a still nights sleep on the water, enjoyed coffee while the sun came up and warmed the cove surrounding us. The sounds of fish jumping and the clear sky (perfect for star watching!) added to the High Zen Level. Bonus for our stay: Full Moon!! We're headed back as soon as we can...

Our stay on the ocean
We thought it was wonderful and unique. If you aren’t ok with bare bones accommodation and “roughing it,” this isn’t for you. If you are up for something unique, sleeping on the ocean, possibly seeing dolphins, and catching some rays, this would be for you. We aren’t fishermen but this would be heaven if you are a fisherman!

Two Sassy girls on the Sas sea.
To start with Captain Mark was very much a gentleman. He helped up with our bags to the boat. He was very accomodating with things we will need. He was also informative on the dos and donts and then how to do the dos. He said he had faith in me :). His communication skills as well as personality skills were above normal. In all Captain Mark is a great guy that cares about his clientele. We will be looking forward to spending some more time on the Sas Sea and seeing Captain Mark again. He not only was knowledgeable with the boat but guided us with where to go and enjoy some night life. Thank you Captain Mark cant wait to see you again. Terri and Robin The Ohio girls :)

Great little adventure
Mark is great! The timing on our end and the weather presented some challenges. Mark did an excellent job of communicating and accommodating. He was able to pivot and adapt when things weren't perfect. A bit of advise for anyone going to book this listing. Consider that the keys are on island time. Don't be to tight with your schedule. Mark was awesome about helping us when we were running late. I'm a little embarrassed that I failed to meet my commitment for the check in time. I unfortunately made it inconvenient for Mark. I apologized and he was able to make his schedule around. This was great adventure me and my 12 year old son. It was a little calming trip on the water. The boat has character and will provide some great memories for anyone that books it. Don't expect the four seasons for comfort. It was more like I was staying on my cousin's boat for the weekend. Mark has a way of making you feel welcome. Great experience for me and my my boy.

Manatee Cove - just the adventure we were looking for!
Despite arriving in a torrential downpour, Mark, the host, greeted us warmly. He escorted us to the upgraded dinghy (we affectionately called her “Karen”) and guided us down the choppy channel, into a beautiful cove, lined by lush mangroves. He accompanied us onto the boat, showed us all the amenities and tricks. We immediately felt comfortable. This is not a 5-star yacht, but more like a cozy cabin in the woods. All the essentials were provided, and anything we needed, Mark provided promptly. Sitting on the top boat deck, we enjoyed 360-degree views of the stunning sunrises and breathtaking sunsets. This was our absolute favorite spot! Mark was very eager to assist with the maintenance of facilities, providing ice for the cooler, or drinking water. Any question we had was answered promptly, and Mark even made some great recommendations for restaurants and sights throughout the Keys. We most enjoyed the privacy and quietness of the location. It provided just the unplugging and relaxing we were seeking. We loved taking the included kayak out into the mangroves, where we discovered a small tiki deck in the middle of a private cove. We will absolutely recommend this stay to anyone looking for an adventure. We’ve already told our family and friends about this spot, and look forward to hopefully staying again in the future!

A beautiful outdoors adventure
It was our first time in Key Largo and it was an absolute beautiful time on Manatee Mark's boat for a three day stay. Definitely more for the outdoorsy type with kayaking, fishing, and the water being right outside your bedroom. Mark checked on us through out our stay to make sure we were okay with the boat and happy about our stay as well as wonderfull communication up until the moment we checked in. We will say this space is definitely for people that love the outdoors, open space, and the water.

I had an amazing stay. Mark was an absolute wonderful person, so attentive, very helpful, I never felt that there wasn't help nearby. The boat was a great place to sit and read and just be a part of the sea for a little while. It's an older boat, it isn't shiny or glamorous, it is a space to lay your head and prepare for the next days adventure. I found it to be a lot like camping, which for me was nothing to worry about, some may not feel that way. Go expecting to get out with as much as you put in, see things not for what they are in front of you, but how they can enrich your experience. I will go back, if not just for the views in the bay or the rest of the keys but the charm.

My wife and I had an absolute pleasure staying on Marks boat! She’s an older, but well kept boat. The sunsets and sunrises, with our coffee, were breathtaking! The boat is older, I don't have an issue with older in general. The bed is cushions that fit together to make a bed, like when you were a kid sleeping on the table that makes into a bed in your grandparents camper... except for, these cushions are old and have lost their loft. A 4 inch mattress topper would go a long way towards a good night's sleep. The bathroom sports a porta potty. My husband is particular about his bathroom facilities and refused to use the porta potty. There are nice bathroom facilities at the marina. If I had known it was a porta potty I would not have booked the boat. To be fair, if you look closely in the pictures you can tell that it is a porta potty. The refrigerator does not work. You are supplied with a cooler and ice. Not a biggie for us, we only had drinks out on the boat. But if you wanted to do any cooking and had stuff to keep cool you would have to be aware of the space restriction. In the description Mark requests that you remove your shoes when in the cabin... half of the floor was wet, there was standing water under the second bed at the back of the boat.. there was no way I was going to walk around on wet carpet barefooted. That's all I'm going to say about that... Parking was another issue. A local women yelled at me one morning for parking in an "available" spot. You need to turn in early if you want a parking spot. We had to park along the side of the road every night. If you like camping and are OK with mosquitoes then no problem.

Fun Boat Adventure
This spot is very unique and a bit rugged. Getting to the boat may be a bit stressful and take a while as you have to drive a little dinghy to the boat, but it makes for a fun adventure! The boat itself is quaint, reminiscent of tent camping. Mark is very nice and easy to communicate with. We had to cut our trip a bit short and he was very considerate and helpful.
