Sam the Tiny Cabin in Serpentine
Cabin Sam is situated on a unique and very picturesque land nested on the side of the Karnet Nature Reserve, surrounded by trees and offering views over the neighbouring hills of the nature reserve.
Our cabins are much more than a just a place to sleep and dream. It’s a tiny cabin that can surprisingly fit all your comforts for the perfect stay.
Fully equipped with maximum comfort in mind from a queen-sized bed & bedding (sheets & quilt), pillows and even reading lights, to an indoor kitchenette and an outdoor BBQ with all your essential cookware and a small fridge to make your favourite, wholesome meals.
We didn’t forget the generously sized bathroom with an indoor shower and an odourless composting toilet.
Final thoughtful touches were made, such as a great collection of games and books for you to enjoy your stay.
Our family cabin Sam features a queen size bed by the main window and 2 single bunk beds in the main space. Sam can sleep up to 4 people.
In the heart of Whajuk country and under an hour drive from Perth. Situated on the edge of the Karnet Nature Reserve this dog friendly location and ideal to explore the vast forests around Jarrahdale to soak in the rich history of this timber milling region. Regardless of the season there is plenty to do and enjoy!
What to do
The Serpentine falls and Jarrahdale are only a stone throw away so there is plenty to explore.
If you feel like going for a dip there is the North Dandalup Dam about 5 minutes drive away.
Food wise there is the Jarrahdale Tavern, the Jarrahdale General Store and the Serpentine Bistro on the Dam to only name a few. Millbrook Winery is a must if you’re looking for something more upmarket (bookings recommended). There is also the Kings Road Brewing Co only a short drive away.
Looking for something different? You can visit the Bodhinyana Buddhist monastery (8 min drive) and maybe participate in the daily offering (10.30am).
The horses are very curious and will come greet you… and try to nib on your car if you let them! Don’t worry we offer a fenced out area for that reason – Of course there is also an abundance of wildlife and the kangaroos come out in force at dusk and dawn.
