I meant to book a same day room through expedia and used wrong date by mistake due to website prefilling dates. I called them immediately and they would not allow me to change dates or refund my money because I didn't pay for trip insurance. I was able to get a room for the intended date. It appeared outdated. This was not a normal reservation cancellation. I was trying to correct the dates. Eventually I heard from management and they offered me a refund only if I booked another night. I explained to them that I had already stayed at their hotel, but they wanted me to book another night. Sounds to me like a money hungry company that doesn't care about their customers.
