During the check in process, the front desk person seemed unpleasant and not wanting to be there. Her demeanor towards my family, left us feeling like we don't belong. Chlorine/other chemicals in the pool was very strong. My family and I had to returned to the pool mutiple times hoping the scent would eventually diminish. It never did. We eventually decided to use the pool, however we had to get out of the pool and pool area, sometimes returning to our room, before returning to the pool. Our eyes were burning, we were coughing, and my youngest son vomit multiple times. Apparently some of the guests complained. The water were tested. This was never resolved prior to our departure. Thursday mornining my family and I woke up to the entire hotel smelling like cow f*c*. Apparentely layed on properties close by. Prior to checking out, I observed the interaction with the same front desk attendant and other guests and notice her interaction with them was different; she seemed happy and smiles genuinely with her European or European ancestry guests. The opposite was for me. Her demeanor was unwelcoming. She seemed uncomfortable corresponding with me. Her "smiles" were fake the expressions on her face quickly turned cold. I had given her the benefit of the doubt maybe she was having a bad day when I checked in. Obviously not, her attitude differ based on the guests. I purposely chose to give her my business card, hopefully I can directly offer her advise on how to treat all guests.

Easy check in, nice room. The room was plenty big, with comfortable beds and different pillows to choose from. This would be an Ideal hotel for a longer vacation because of the kitchen. The St. Jacob’s Market was just an added bonus we didn’t know about. Wow! What a cool market, with so much food and things to look at and buy. I would stay again and go on a Thursday or Saturday just to go to the market and get in line bright and early for the apple fritters!

After staying at the hotel for a night and enjoying our time we found out that the hotel charged us an additional $500 on top of our $300 nightly rate and $200 deposit. No one from the hotel called to advise why we were charged. There were no damages nor did we take anything. We used very few amenities within the room - had the popcorn and used the dishwasher tabs for our dishes and put them away. I even tidied up the room before leaving. I called the hotel for an explanation and was told that the charge was authorized by a manager with zero explanation in our file. So for that we are not impressed. We have to wait for an explanation tomorrow once a manager is on duty. Well in my opinion additional charges should be advised to customers before doing so so that they are aware or any wrong doings and given a chance to rectify if need be. We were blindsided.

The hotel is clean, new, very well stocked. We went to st jacobs market with the intention to buy fancy foods to cook for dinner. The fully stocked kitchen allowed us to do do. My only complaint is the pic showed a proper oven but our room only had a 2 burner hot plate. We can do to some creative rethinking on dinner prep because of this limitation. But overall excellent. Breakfast was hot fresh and plentiful.
