J&K's Getaway is a quiet retreat and perfect for your weekend or week-long getaway to the Outer Banks! This newly constructed apartment is beautifully designed and decorated complete with a furnished kitchen, full bath, king size bed and living room. Perfect for resting after spending a day at the beach and in the sun! Linens and towels are provided and waiting for your stay. Located in the sought after Southern Shores community, you will be provided a pass for all the community amenities. This pass will provide you access to a private beach access, a sound park for beautiful sunsets, access to the marina- so bring your boat! Plus other amenities. We are also less then a 2 mile drive to the Kitty Hawk Beach access. There is a fire pit on site for relaxing evenings by the fire.

Lovely "Get-Away"
This place was absolutely perfect. It's located on a very quiet, peaceful loop - no noise from cars racing up and down Rt 12. The décor was lovely and relaxing. You're provided a pass to Southern Shores locations on the Sound and one which provides beach access. The owners were quick to respond to all my questions. I completely enjoyed myself and would definitely stay there again.

I can't say enough good things about this property and the folks who own it! This was our second stay here and i wouldn't look anywhere else ....it is clean, comfortable and cozy. The neighborhood is lovely and peaceful. Incredibly tucked away and yet so convenient to our favorite beaches, restaurants and golf course. An exceptional place with great privacy and perfect communication with John and his wife. 5 stars PLUS!

We had a wonderful few days—too few—at this property. It was conveniently situated with regard to the beaches and all the local attractions. It was very comfortably furnished. Spent a week with my son beaching and fishing and stuff OBX. I’ve been going to OBX for 20 summers and this was the most enjoyable place I’ve stayed when you take everything into consideration The hosts were great , friendly and helpful The place was clean and an enjoyable setting.

Obx 4 day stay
We found the accommodations to be clean, spacious, seemingly recently renovated, nicely laid out and easy to use for the most part (maybe some instructions about the 2 tv remotes, but John was quite helpful with that). For us, in our early 80s, the steep steps were a challenge, but that was our bad because we know they were there. Would have been no problem 5 years ago. All in all, a great place to stay

A perfect stay
I was in need of a quiet and beautiful place and this more than fit the bill. John was very responsive before and during my trip. I saw John and Katie maybe two or three times during the five days I was there and I never heard them while I was in the apartment. The apartment is around the corner and high up. The pictures online did not do it justice. It was immaculate, spacious and modern. The bed was so comfortable. Within the beautiful neighborhood is a really nice trail, marinas, tennis courts and a lovely park to watch the sunset. With a five minute drive, you will find a Food Lion, Harris Teeter and 7-11 gas station. If the Keurig coffee in the apartment is not your thing, there is a Starbucks in the same shopping center as the Food Lion. You have access to private parking that is just a 3 minute walk to the beach. Duck is about 5 minutes away and has so much to offer. If I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would. John and Katie are the perfect hosts and this apartment is the perfect place. A true gem. I would return and recommend it without hesitation. Having said all that I hope it is available when I decide to return!
