Pros: spacious room for a family of four. Clean and very comfortable. Walking distance to train & restaurants. Cons: mostly automated from check in to check out inc. door code for room. Fine if you don’t have issues. Very strict about early check in or check out. Bag storage area was required as we arrived early but the locks were not working. Was kinda frustrating after a big day of travel. No one to help. Also onsen is lovely but you pay extra even as a guest. For the price we felt it should have been included.

Extremely spacious and comfortable accomodation. Check in and out were smooth and fuss free. Small complaint would be the limited amount of towels in the room. The private spa and onsen is highly recommended.

Room was very large and comfortable. Were given a basement suite when we booked which turned out to be a blessing. Very high ceilings, nice bathroom and big bed. Area was all kept and old Kyoto was walking distance. Check in was a bit choppy but you just need to follow the directions.

Nice, and clean modern room. Convenient location. We had issues with virtual communication as there is no staff on site. The auto light in the room was agonizing as the whole room brightly lights up if anyone goes to washroom.

Brilliant set-up. Roomy, well appointed, had everything we needed. Super-friendly and helpful staff. Two well-stocked markets within 25 meters, and lovely restaurants nearby. And on top of all that, good value for money! We've traveled extensively over the years - mostly 4 and 5 star hotels - This unpretentious hotel was one of the best!!

It’s a virtual check-in which I don’t like. Entry light is on a sensor which is terrible for a couple or family when you go to the bathroom at night. Have to reserve spa bath house. If that works for you great very clean, but not my cup of tea.
