Wonderful hotel, rooms were spacious and clean. Laundry machines available, although the fee was a little high compared to other hotels we stayed at in Japan, and the pay system could be more convenient (credit card only, no cash/apple pay). Very walkable and safe location. We especially liked that the hotel offered free walking tours to help guests get to know the area. We enjoyed it so much!

First the bad! Onsite laundry damaged a few delicate garments of clothing, and the dryer did not dry. After an hour gave up and air dried the clothing. Everything else was excellent! The staff was very friendly, the reception area was small and cozy, but for a small reception area the rooms were huge! I felt so comfortable with the no shoes inside policy, large living area, separate toilet/shower/wash areas. So clean and spacious! This place is in the middle of things. Walk East and you’ll enter a shrine, park, roads that lead you to amazing places such as more shrines and shops! You can keep walking for hours. Walk West and you’ll hit the busy shopping areas. During your walk in any direction you’ll always have something to see and do. This is my favorite place of the 4 hotels I stayed at during my vacation! Would recommend and come back, and forget the laundry exists!

Possibly the best of the many hotels we used in our trip. Incredibly nice rooms with lots of amenities, including a well-stocked kitchenette. Great location and overall utterly charming place to be.

We loved our stay here. We are a family of 2 adults and 3 young children and we were very comfortable here. Truly felt like home with a lot of space for the kids. I would take out half a star only for the lack of amenities for women like facial wash and lotions and slippers for adults and kids. They provided 1 pair of adult slippers. Other than that, they had a complete kitchenette if you wanted to make a meal in your hotel room. They also had matcha tea with wagashi every night and a free early morning tour of the shrines and temples in the area. The location is perfect, close to the gion shijo station and a hop and skip away from restaurants and gion area.

Located next to Yasaka Shrine and Hanamikoji-dori, this hotel is located at the heart of Gion area making it walkable to a lot of attractions. Rooms are neat and spacious. Self making bread for breakfast is interesting, and they surprised us by stuffing the fridge with bento box of delicious sushi balls. Highly recommended for travellers with family!

Location was perfect. Close to many sights in Gion. We could walk to many places. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. We enjoyed the bread in the morning. We also did the early morning walking tour. It was perfect time to visit Gion and take photos without any crowds. Would stay here again.

The room itself was spacious and clean, but the sink faucet was broken upon arrivals. It was fixed promptly while we were out of the room. Supplies were all put away and stored in the cabinet and difficult to find at times. We didn’t find the tissue box until the 3rd night of our stay because it was propped against the wall under the television. Overall if was a good stay.

the property has excellent location for daytime - at night it could get a bit quiet as is most of Kyoto. easy access to sights and transport. room is nice but no windows....good for family and kids. overall recommended!
