Gite for weekly rental in the park of the listed castle of Dur-Ecu (16thc.). 300 m from the beach… where the British navy landed in 1522.. and 1758 (trust the Admiralty for keeping good records), and with full view of the coast. From your windows, you see the site of one of the famous naval battles of the American Civil War between the Confederate Alabama and the U.S.S. Kearsarge. Beautiful walks, short and long, from your doorstep. Renovated, tastefully and comfortably. Conveniently near to all shops, services.

Gîte for 4 guests : Gîte du Moulin à Blé (Wheat mill). Independent watermill on two levels. One bedroom with a double bed (1m40 wide) + a second bedroom with twin beds (1m10) wide. Bathroom with bath, shower and toilet. Living room with 3 windows on the sea, wood stove, CD, DVD reader,TV, kitchen with microwave/classic oven, washing machine. Terrace facing the sea with garden furniture. 1.4 km from shops and services.

The main heating is through hot water radiators, included in the price. There are additional electric radiators. The price includes water, and electricity within the limit of 8 kwh /night. additional kwh at 0.20 €. Rented as gite ( weekly and do your own cleaning). Wonderful tranquil place
We had a wonderful stay at the gite for over 2 weeks. It was the perfect place to visit the ehole of west Normandy includung Bayeux. It is close to the sea and to the village of Urville, where the local supermarket Utile had everyting you need and has great opening hours. The gite itself is cosy and the fact that it is near the castke with great gardens is an absolute plus. The interior is a bit outdated on some occasions an could do with some repairs, but our stay was very much ok. If i visit Normandy again, i would certainly consider booking this again.

Vacances très agréables dans un cadre magnifique. Paysages au rendez-vous, moments de détente en famille garantis. Logement dans le "moulin" très agréable, spacieux pour une famille de 4 personnes comme nous. Confort et équipements appréciables. Un plus pour les attentions (petits présents pour la famille et notre animal de compagnie à quatre pattes). Idéal pour découvrir la nature environnante : randonnées accessibles même aux débutants. Séjour à recommander vivement.

Kleines Haus in perfekter Lage
Die Unterkunft entsprach unseren Erwartungen. Die Lage in Meeresnähe und am Rande des Schlossgartens war wunderschön. Der Küstenwanderweg führt am Haus vorbei. Strand und Geschäfte sind gut erreichbar. Alles, was man für einen schönen Aufenthalt benötigt, war im schönen Haus vorhanden.

Wildromantische Normandie in eigener Wassermühle
Die Wassermühle liegt abseits auf dem Gelände eines Schlosses. Fantastische Aussicht auf Schloss und Meer aus den großen Fenstern des Wohnraumes laden zum Verweilen ein. Die Beschreibung stimmt zu 100 % hier gibt es keine bösen Überraschungen. Die Küche ist einfach aber gut ausgestattet. Das große Sofa hat den besten Platz für gemütliche Abende, ob mit Buch, Fernseher oder einfach nur der Aussicht. Bad hat alles, was es braucht, dank Waschmaschine und Trockner kann man mit Kleiner Ausstattung anreisen. Die Betten im Obergeschoss sind genau richtig und man steht schon nach der ersten Nacht ohne große Umgewöhnung entspannt auf und kann die Normandie entdecken. Einfach am Ende der Ausfahrt nur rechts oder links abbiegen und sich überraschen lassen. In einer kompletten Mappe hat der Gastgeber Informatives zu seiner Mühle, den Abläufen vor Ort, der ökologischen Ausrichtung und Tipps für Touren in die Umgebung zusammengestellt. Ein absolutes „Rundum-sorglos-Paket“. Wir werden wiederkommen.

Un merveilleux endroit face à la mer
Nous avons passé un extraordinaire séjour, dans cet ancien moulin de pierre face à la mer et entouré d’une superbe forêt. Le lieu est propice à la détente et proche de magnifiques lieu à visiter dans la région. Le gîte est très confortable, on a du plaisir à y retourner après une belle randonnée sur le sentier du littoral tout proche. Tout y est aménagé intelligemment. Le propriétaire des lieux nous réserve un accueil chaleureux et bienveillant, ce qui ajoute à ce lieu un sentiment de bien-être. Nous y retournerons sans hésitation et surtout avec plaisir.

Entspannter Urlaub in ländlicher Umgebung
Die Landschaft in der Normandie ist einfach fantastisch! Dazu waren es vom Ferienhaus nur ein paar Meter zum Strand. Das Ferienhaus liegt etwas abseits - etwas versteckt am Waldrand mit einem kleinen Bach davor. Sehr malerisch! Erholung pur! Trotzdem kommt man mit dem Fahrrad in 10 min zum nächsten Bäcker, der sehr lecker backt. Wenn man unbedingt die Stadt braucht, ist man in 15 min mit dem Auto in Cherbourg. Der einzige Wehrmutstropfen im Haus war der Schimmelgeruch. In der Normandie ist es halt immer feucht. Für Asthmatiker schwierig.

Fantastische locatie tussen zee en bos; zon en schaduw, heden en historie!
We hebben heerlijke weken gehad; niet alleen voor ons maar ook voor onze honden die vrijuit het bos in konden. Een heerlijk plekje in de avonden in het zonnevlekken in het bos, aan het beekje met uitzicht op de witte aronskelken en de mammoetsbladen. Goede tips van Philippe. Extra tip: reserveer altijd in de restaurants!!

schöne Urlaubszeit
Die Gegend hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Preis - Leistungsverhältnis war sehr gut. Der Vermieter war sehr unkompliziert. (Bei uns gab es Änderungen in der Personenanzahl und bei den Teilnehmern der Reise). Das Ferienhaus liegt ruhig und abseits, aber nicht weit entfernt vom Ort. Die Gegend hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Was besonders toll war, wir waren sehr schnell beim Strand. Die Gezeiten waren gut sichtbar aufgrund des Wasserstandes am Strand und die Reste von den Bunkeranlagen waren interessant für die Kinder, sie liebten es dort raufzuklettern. Als einziges Manko würde ich die Spanplatten, auf denen die Matratzengelegen haben, angeben. Meine Mutter (76 Jahre alt) hatte Schwierigkeiten mit dem Liegen, sie ist aber dann auf das Schlafsofa im Wohnzimmerbereich ausgewichen.

Urlaub auf historischem Boden
Die Auszeit von einer Woche direkt an den historischen Mauern hat bestens funktioniert. Auch wenn wir der Französischen Sprache nur sehr sperrlich mächtig sind, haben wir uns mit Geduld von Frau Biggot sowie Händen und Füßen verständigen können, der vorherige Anruf zur Absprache der Ankunfszeit war dafür jedoch etwas schwierig - hat aber ebenfalls funktioniert. Das Haus ist recht kalt, lässt sich aber mit den vorhandenen Heizungen aufheizen. Gerade bei feuchter Außenluft, ist das Haus recht feucht und die Feuchtigkeit ist schwierig zu bekämpfen, nach ein-zwei Sonnentagen geht dies jedoch wieder. Das Haus ist für Strandgänge und der Auszeit am Meer gut gelegen, auch eine Fahrt entlang der Küste oder dem Küstenwanderweg ist zu empfehlen.

Einzigartige Location
Die Lage gleich neben der Burg Dur-Ecu mit Blick auf das Meer. Der rauschende Bach im naheliegenden Wald. Ein Traum ! Das Ferienhaus bietet alles, was man braucht, um einen herrlichen Urlaub zu verleben. Für kleine Kinder und ältere Menschen ist die steile Treppe zu den Schlafzimmern vielleicht nicht so geeignet. Aber für Erwachsenen, die das Besondere suchen und die Ruhe lieben, ist das Ferienhaus ideal. Der nahegelegen Ort Urville-Naqueville bietet einen riesigen Strand und Wassersportmöglichkeiten, allerdings wenig Restaurants. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden und kommen gerne wieder.
