Beautiful home in a great location!
What an absolutely beautiful home! The owner, David, was very responsive and helpful in providing suggestions on restaurants and activities. It was an unusually hot week in Lake Tahoe and we didn’t realize the home didn’t have air conditioning, but with the windows open at night and a couple fans, it all worked out! The outdoor deck was perfect for bbq and family games. The nearby beaches, shopping and restaurants were great. We enjoyed our stay!

Great views and home in Tahoe Vista
The home and David (builder/owner) were both amazing! Once we figured out that the downstairs bedroom in floor plan on listing was actually the office that was identified elsewhere as not part of rental we were able to comfortably fit myself and wife in master and baby in adjacent room with crib (owner had pack & play, toys, bath toys and indoor toddler slide for kids). Master has amazing bath with large tub and large glass shower with steam feature. Nanny in downstairs BR w/ensuite and 17 year old and 12 year old comfortable in amazing loft over kitchen/great room with built ins. Internet everywhere in Tahoe Vista is slow. We will be back to water plants... Thank you Dave for great restaurant suggestions as well. :)

Amazing and welcoming!
We loved David’s house. It’s gorgeously rustic and welcoming. The kitchen was open and well equipped, and allowed multiple cooks to prepare food simultaneously while socializing with others nearby. There was ample space for everyone to spread out as well in the privacy of bedrooms/loft. A huge plus also is that the house is located really close to a network for park trails, so parts of our party enjoyed hikes with amazing views of the lake. To top it all, David was very hospitable. When he learned that we were coffee lovers, he brought a grinder, beans and french press for us to use. He also shoveled the driveway early in the morning when it snowed and even shared his boot warmer with us after our skiing/snowboarding. We are looking forward to returning and staying again in the future!

a memorable trip to Lake Tahoe
The house is a comfortable place to spend our winter vacation in Lake Tahoe. It is clean and convenient to shopping and ski area. I believe that the view would be even better in summer. We still have some lake view on some clear winter days. The owner is very helpful. We couldn't survive the biggest snowstorm of last two decades without his tips and help. overall, it is an great place to come back in the future.

Our stay in COVID
Here are the Pros: it’s a beautifully designed home with incredible woodwork throughout the home. The Master bathroom has a lovely jacuzzi and steam shower. The Kitchen was well supplied and an Outdoor deck was a nice to have. The Washer and dryer were a plus too. We didn’t mind the No shoe rule as it helped to keep the house clean. David is extremely available via text message and seen throughout the property for immediate questions and needs. The Cons: the Owner lives on the property though this is not in the listing. Though it may say this in the rental agreement, this should be mentioned on the listing when filtering for an entire place. The WiFi is acceptable for 1 person if you have video calls or want to stream. There are no curtains to keep out sunrise and house lights that are close by. We were asked to water the owners 5+ plants which we did, but weren’t told would be a responsibility of ours for a vacation rental until arrival. Lastly, the living room was under furnished and not a space to use. Another couch and coffee table (as shown in the picture was not present) would make the room more usable. In the end, we still had a lovely time. Though, the owner is on the property, it did not feel as private as we hoped, especially during COVID-19, and not as much a vacation home including a lot of nuances to maintain the property.

Wonderful home for a family stay
Our family of 8 stayed (2 adult couples and 4 teenage kids) here for post Christmas getaway and it met all our needs. The 3 levels (3 bdrms, 3 ba, loft) provided sufficient privacy and room for everyone to be comfortable while the layout of the kitchen, living room, and dining room allows us common space to share and have create some fun memories. David personally greeted us and toured us through his home and provided good input on the area and tips for skiing and enjoying the Tahoe area - definitely a gracious host (also very easy to communicate with him during our stay as needed). This is a very beautiful home in a great location that accommodate our needs. Would definitely stay here again! Many thanks David for sharing your home with us and your hospitality.

Awesome House
We had a great time at this beautiful Tahoe cabin style home. The pictures are accurate. Once there our preference was to primarily stay in, cook and play games with the kids/grand kids. It was a blessing to get the kids away from cable TV, video games and such. Our family spent hours playing table games which I would say the teenagers enjoyed as much or more than the adults. They talk about what a joy it was as do we. The kitchen is well appointed and stocked. David provided a great orientation to his home. I recommend this rental to anyone that appreciates and respects a well designed and clean place to stay.

Lovely stay
Beautiful house and shows pride of ownership. We were a little surprised at the situation with the stairs as we had an older person with us. The main living areas are on second floor up a 10or 12 steps. But there are also bedrooms on this floor so She really only had to climb up or down when we left to go out. Not too bad. One other comment - the house has gorgeous windows but lacks shades on a few. Would suggest adding curtains in the bedrooms. Overall nice place.

Perfect spot that was private yet so close to everything we wanted to do. The park just a few steps away was a great place to play soccer and baseball and the lake was just down the hill. Extremely clean, great location, toys for kids
This was a great place to stay over the Christmas holiday. We were traveling with 5 adults and 3 young toddlers. The location was great - Safeway is just down the street, Northstar is only a 15 min drive, and a sledding hill is 5 minutes away. The house is very clean and fully stocked with everything we needed to cook up some great meals. The children had plenty of toys to play with in the loft area. I'd highly recommend staying at this place if you're traveling with a group that enjoys nice homes and respects someone else's space.

Amazing Home
This was an incredible home in Lake Tahoe. The floor plan was open and offered gorgeous windows and sliding glass doors to take in the beautiful scenery. It was so peaceful to wake up in the morning with a fire place in the master suite looking out to bright clear blue skies. The home had a gourmet kitchen and had all of the cookware anyone could need. The owner had spices, flour, tea etc. for us to use. It was great to not have to stop and pick up these items. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful.

beautiful exactly as described
We had a wonderful stay in this home. It was extremely comfortable and was not missing a thing. The kitchen was well stocked with all top end appliances and very easy to work in. The bedrooms were all large and comfortable with adjoining bathrooms that were equally well appointed. David was very accommodating with coffee already there and waiting. He takes great pride in his home as the designer and builder. He is very specific about exactly how to use things but that ensures that this home is perfect for all. I found this home really comfortable and beautiful and a great vacation home in Tahoe. The pictures are very accurate and it is exactly as described. A great fun place. Thank you David for being a great host!

No Shoe Rule Taints a Good Time
Let me begin by saying I & family have stayed in numerous VRBO / HomeAway / other vacation properties, have experienced an array of owners & their particulars. We've had all positive experiences in our stays, never lost deposits & always left on good terms. David owns a nice property and we were excited to spend some quality, family time in the property. My first impression of the 'high' (in excess of four figures) deposit & no-shoe rule should have deterred me from booking with this owner. My wife & I also have a no shoe rule in our home; as did our other guests. We all believe this is best way to easily maintain one's home & avoid damage & tracking-in unwanted debris into our homes. Essentially, we all easily complied with the no shoe rule...for 99% of our stay. Our 20 month-old had pushed a plastic LEGO box (provided by the owner) on the floor & scuffed the finish in a few places. These are scuff marks to the finish & not scratches to the finish or wood. The owner's reaction is to withhold our entire 'four-figure' deposit. This is an EXTREME reaction to some scuff marks which can easily be buffed-out of a small area of a 2850 sq foot property. The owner is stating the ENTIRE floors need refinished due to these scuff marks and 4 sets shoe prints...REALLY!? Further, while the floors are nice they are far from perfect! Lastly, are these floors even appropriate for a vacation rental? The owner also doesn't appropriately / sufficiently supply the property. For example, there was no shampoo / conditioners in bathrooms, few linens & we ran out of dishwashing detergent on our 2nd day. Sticky notes on drawers directed us not to use certain drawers. We had no access to the garage, which would have been 'nice' for a winter rental given snow & unpacking one's vehicles. Especially given the no shoe rule. This property is advertised as a 'premier' lodge and the price is reflective. However, mattresses, linens, bedding, glassware, flatware etc., were reflective of much inferior lodging. The owner isn't forthcoming about the property either; he doesn't clearly state you have no access to the garage. Further, he didn't advise, until arrival, that he'd be staying on-site in adjoining area. In summary, we won't be staying at this property in the future & won't refer to friends / family. I don't believe this owner should have this property in the vacation rental pool nor the owner because of unrealistic expectations, strange habits & tired facilities.
