Hidden Heaven lake house. Quiet private cottage on 1 acre

Decorated with wildlife decor, this cottage gives you the relaxation and comfort of a peaceful vacation! Fully equipped, all you need to bring is food and clothes. All rooms have satellite TV and DVD players. Relax watching the sunset on the spacious deck while grilling. 2 bedrooms (K&Q) , sleep sofa, and air mattress if needed. 2 docks and boat lift (boat lift currently broken but shelter is available to park boat under) Enjoy the day on one of the 10 kayaks or 5 person pedal boat available (life jackets provided) . All water activities are at your OWN RISK. Owners will not be responsible for any accidents. 3 adult bicycles available.
Corn hole boards for outdoor fun by the concrete firepit! Located on Johnsons creek on the Chickahomony River.
WIFI is available at no extra charge. Sometimes depending on weather wifi could be spotty. Guests are responsible for the portable router. If lost or damaged, there will be a $200 charge for the device. Due to travelers with allergies this is a pet free home, No exceptions.

We came here to relax and fish. Joyce and Eric have been the most accommodating hosts that I have ever run across. I felt like we were all family. ☺️. The property was perfect and incredibly peaceful. I would give them a 10 star rating if possible. Cannot wait to return next year

The Big Secret Of Lanexa, VA
Ever find a nice, relaxing place and hope to keep it for yourself? Maybe it was a quiet spot in the mountains or a secluded spot on the beach. That was our feeling with this home on the lake. It was quiet and peaceful. The home was clean and had everything we needed. It’s a short drive from the concrete jungle which is Williamsburg. Actually, Williamsburg is a nice town, but that is a review for another day. (I was using hyperbole for contrast.) The owner was excellent to deal with and I can’t say enough about how we enjoyed everything about this home. Go and have a good time.

A relaxing stay
The cottage was very nicely appointed, cozy and clean. We enjoyed hanging out around the fire pit and the quiet surroundings. We checked out Williamsburg and Fort Monroe which are easy drives. Our stay was just what we needed.

Perfect getaway
My family and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage! It had everything you need to just show up and relax! Kitchen fully stocked, bathroom stocked with toiletries (including razors!), comfortable beds, DVDs and board games for the kids! We enjoyed the firewood provided for a fire in the firepit outside as well as the wood stove inside. The lake was frozen when we were there so no fishing or using the boats provided on this trip, BUT WE WILL BE BACK! Our host was incredibly gracious and always available!

Truly a hidden heaven
I cannot say enough positive things about this property. It was so extremely comfortable and the mere feet away lake front was breathtaking at dusk and dawn. It was so well stocked with anything needed I was gob-smacked. If we stay anywhere close to this area again we will most definitely stay here again. Thank you.

The house was immaculate and the extra touches were very much appreciated. The view is so beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed the nostalgic ad signage in the kitchen and the comfort and decoration of the home. Wonderful Christmas with Family
This was a very special trip for us as a family. My husband has been stationed in Virginia for several months and it was the first time he was to be deployed during the holidays. He found out he could take some time off so we travelled to Virginia to California to visit with him. We had to book last minute as his plans continually changed. Joyce was a delight to work with and even offered her property early so that we could savor every minute with him. The house was cute and decorated for Christmas. We were able to put the gifts under the tree for our kids to open Christmas morning. The house was clean and was obviously set up with thought and care. We didn't enjoy the firepit or other outdoor activities as we did a lot of sightseeing, but we loved the privacy and quietness of the area. I also didn't cook (it's my vacation), but the kitchen was well appointed. I'm a history teacher so Virginia is a must-see for me. I will definitely be back for more of what Virginia has to offer, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Joyce's property again. She's truly a symbol of southern hospitality.

Exactly What My Family Needed…… Hidden Heaven
The owners, Joyce and Eric, were so kind. I rented their charming home at very last minute. Even so, Joyce had balloons and a basket of candy waiting to cheer my son, who had a long day of dr appts at UVA. The surprise of a vacation plus the balloons and candy got his mind off of everything. My husband loved the fishing. The docks being just steps from the door made the perfect getaway for him. Our 2 sons enjoyed taking kayaks down the river exploring. The owners have thought of everything. It is the most well stocked and cleanest VRBO I have ever been to. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need (skillets, pans, stock pots, dishes, bowls, coffee maker, keurig, tea kettle, the list goes on and on!) The bathroom also is fully stocked with more bath & beach towels than I even own! Really nice, soft, luxurious towels. The beds were very comfortable and we slept so good every night. I love that this home is on a private road with no thru traffic. It is quite and you feel like you’re in your own little world. Yet you can be to Busch Gardens or more touristy attractions in a short drive. I highly recommend this home. If you’re looking for a clean home in a safe area this is it. My family already is talking about visiting again next year.

Exactly what we were looking for...
This home is exactly as it is described. My family was looking for a home with water access on the Chickahominy for fishing. It was a perfect location for us and a very nice cottage. Clean and comfortable. We brought our own boat, launched at a nearby marina, and used the owners dock. This will be where we stay when we return for future trips.
