Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
When I walked in about 11 p.m. to check in, I went to the front desk. I said hello, and without looking up, the front desk gentleman said, "ID and credit card." I said, "A hello would have been nice." Then he looked up, confused. We proceeded to check in. There was an error on my reservation. He was GREAT at fixing the reservation to accommodate my needs.
We reserved two rooms. One room smelled of smoke and had some cover-up fragrance to mask the smell; the other was missing items. In the morning, I was in the shower and found no shower gel or shampoo. When we left for the day, I stopped by the front desk and asked for two hand towels, washcloths, shower gel, and shampoo. The front desk person stated all towels, etc., were in the laundry, and they couldn't bring any. (10 am). I asked when they were ready to get them to the room. Fast forward to the following morning. I was in the shower again, and there was NO SHAMPOO or SHOWER GEL. Plus, they didn't bring the requested towels/washcloths—two days in a row.
I did like having access to the tiny refrigerator and microwave. Plus, if you like softer bed mattresses, my room had one. Note: This hotel is about 20-25 minutes, depending on traffic to Excalibur Hotel. Would I stay again? My husband is a defiant "NO." I may give them a chance. They were cheaper than most hotels and are a step up from Motel 6!
