Historical and welcoming
My husband and I throughly enjoyed our trip and stay at the cabin. We immersed ourselves into the history of the area and appreciated everything this cabin has seen and been through. Judi was an amazing host, she had snacks ready for when you arrived and the place was very clean and welcoming! Thank you Judi for your hospitality and your quickness with responses.

Rustic cabin stay
First of all I want to say I love this place but I just can't. The owner is very nice and absolutely easy to work with but the cabin is in need of repair and a thorough cleaning. With taxes and fees the price was near 385$ which is very steep for this room. First impression.... very unlike the VRBO picture, it is located on a very busy intersection with a train station nearby. It was quite loud. Upon entering, the musty smell was overwhelming .. it is a rustic 1818 cabin, rich with history I know, but rustic and ok for guests are two different things. My husband and I could see the outside from inside the house, again rustic I know, but the spider webs were literally everywhere and mouse droppings were evident on both levels. The bedding was clean and temperature was nice and I did appreciate the snacks provided by the host. If you choose to stay here keep in mind it is very rustic and a little More primitive than i prefer.

Great experience
Our stay at that Oak Lodge was a wonderful experience. The historic building was nicely furnished and outfitted. There were a lot of little touches that enhanced our stay. Plenty of coffee for mornings on the patio, books and magazines highlighting the history etc. Our host was wonderful and accommodating. We will be in the area annually and this will be our first choice in years to come.

wonderful
We stayed at Oak Lodge with the idea it would be a stop off while touring KY. We found that we could not wait to get back to the cabin. The screened back porch was a get together for the 3 of us to visit. We had our wine and talked a lot. We would stay again for sure. Clean, the amenities were great. Only downfall was the traffic and noice of trucks.

Bluegrass, bourbon, and baseball
Everything was first-rate , from start to finish. Great booking experience and great location. Cabin is exactly as advertised—it is beautifully restored and quite comfortable. It would be worth booking it just for the pleasure of staying in it, even if you didn’t do anything else during your visit! Our favorite part was the screened back porch. The location is perfect for bourbon tours, and we combined those with baseball in Lexington. Judith makes sure that everything is just right for your stay, with coffee and snacks there when you arrive. This is a great place to stay.
