The Yurt will sleep 6 comfortably. Secluded and wooded! Walk the trails down to Huzzy Lake, or sit next to the fire pit. The Yurt offers a Murphy bed, a loft, and has a washer and dryer, and a full kitchen. Keep warm by the wood stove and heated floors. Pick morels in the early spring, or smell the grape yards in the fall. The Yurt is great in all seasons. The Yurt is on a small lake connected to a all sports lake but does not have a beach area or dock. There is a public launch less than a 1/2 mile away if you want to bring your own boat. Restaurants, stores, and entertainment are near by!

Significant Health and Safety Issue...
Our recent stay at The Yurt was disappointing, falling below expected standards. Anticipating a relaxing week, we chose The Yurt based on its appealing online description and positive reviews. However, upon arrival, we faced a significant health and safety issue: mice infestation. The kitchen and other areas were littered with mouse droppings, and we found mouse traps, indicating the owners' awareness of this problem but no prior disclosure to us. Nightly, we were disturbed by the sound of mice in the kitchen, and mornings revealed droppings on clean dishes, counters, and our food. We saw mice running around the kitchen.This contamination forced us to eat out, incurring extra costs. The presence of rodent excrement on dishes, bedding, and dining surfaces was distressing and a clear breach of the implied warranty of habitability. The lack of disclosure about these conditions and the discrepancy between the advertised and actual state of the property is alarming. We urge immediate action to address these health and safety issues for the well-being of future guests. The property should not be rented until these significant health and safety concerns are resolved.

Hidden Gem
The Yurt was incredible. It was the perfect place to decompress and reset. A touch of whimsy and a lot of nature was exactly what we needed. We live busy, fast paced lives and this stay was the polar opposite of our day to day and was perfect. It was clean, well appointed and so much fun. We will no doubt be returning next year!

A peaceful stay near the bustling city
There is a bit of everything, at the Yurt, for our grown family. The building and view are gorgeous and peaceful. The in floor heating and old records made things cozy. And a quick jaunt to portage provided plenty of fast paced adventure for our 20 something children. It is a bit of paradise tucked away in nature. The only thing people complained about was finding the turn, because it really is out of the view of the rest of the world.

UNIQUE SPACE!
Adventures await you at the Yurt! The lake is right on the property with plenty of hiking trails. Two kayaks are available for use as well as a near by boat launch. The Yurt has everything you will need for your stay. We did a girlfriends weekend but families would also love this. Close to Pawpaw and lawton.

There were plenty of blankets for the weather. The heated floor were amazing. Nothing better to do than unwind watching the sunset after derby bouts! The rest of the team stayed in hotels and were not happy with their accommodations! The Yurt was the envy of all! Thanks for the great experience!

Awesome place to stay
We did some winter camping here so we could snowshoe. We loved the cozy yurt with a wood burning stove and beautiful views. You have everything you need for a great getaway. The owners were great at communicating and all was clean and perfect when we arrived. Thanks so much!! Highly recommend!

Cozy Retreat!
Our family came here for 3 nights before Christmas and had a fabulous time! The yurt was so warm, cozy, and spacious. Our kids enjoyed sleeping in the loft and made it their own little fort. The yurt had everything you could possibly need. The property the yurt is on is beautiful. We enjoyed the incredible lake views, the hiking trails, and the cool tree house. We can’t wait to come back!

My husband and I came here to celebrate our one year anniversary, and we were looking to get out of the city. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The yurt was absolutely beautiful, and so well maintained. It was so clean! Every detail was thought through. The bathroom was so luxurious! Along with the yurt, we enjoyed the property immensely. There was a lot of land to explore, including the awesome tree house/swing. Thanks to these owners for making this such a treasure!!

A great place to stay!
The yurt was a nice getaway. We drove the 40 minutes to Lake Michigan one day for the beach, and we also went to the Air/Space museum in Portage, MI one day. Lots of stuff close by to do and places to eat. The yurt has everything you need. The owners were helpful and nice. We highly recommend!

Great family getaway
We had such a great time here! Like others have said, the pictures don’t do it justice! It’s really cool. Kitchen had everything we needed, but there is a Walmart close by too. Full bath inside was awesome. There’s no AC but we lucked out with cooler temps and they provide lots of fans. We were very comfortable the whole time. Our three year old loved it. They provide board games too that we played as a family. The hiking/nature trails around the yurt were beautiful. We really felt secluded and private. Again like other people are saying, google maps takes you on the wrong road. (It’s not on Lake Drive) the entrance is on road 652 Also we screenshot the “steps” in google maps in a couple of directions because there is no cell service for a few miles. Verizon was the worst, but our Cricket service actually worked at the site. All worth it for an amazing stay!! Thanks for providing such a special place for our family.
