"Le Armelline", holiday home in the heart of the historic center of Lecce.

The house, a typical construction with star vaults, is located in a small courtyard near Piazza Sant'Oronzo, just 50 meters away from the main street and the beautiful church of Sant'Irene, historically considered as the exact center of the city ancient.
The apartment can accommodate up to 5 people, and is composed of a comfortable fully equipped kitchen/dining room, two double bedrooms, two bathrooms with shower, a mezzanine with a single bed (a comfortable Japanese futon), a small laundry room with washing machine , a small internal cloister. It is equipped with heating, bed linen and towels, pots, crockery, cutlery and any other useful accessory. In summer the rooms are naturally cool and do not need air conditioning. However, there is 1 air conditioner in the smaller double bedroom.
Its position allows you to spend a pleasant and relaxing stay in the fascinating beauty of the historic center of Lecce, with its evocative baroque architecture, alleys, courtyards, artisan shops, typical restaurants and any other cultural, artistic or recreation of the ancient village.
Those arriving by car must park outside the historic center about 600/700 m from the apartment.
There are 2 paid car parks:
- private secure parking
- unattended municipal parking at 60 cents. per hour (free from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m., from 9.00 p.m. to 9.00 a.m., and all holidays)
It is a perfect accommodation for those who come to Lecce for work or want to visit and discover Salento; in a short time it is possible to reach the splendid places of the Adriatic coast (Torre dell'Orso, Otranto, Santa Cesarea, Castro) or of the Ionian coast (Porto Cesareo, Porto Selvaggio, Santa Caterina, Gallipoli, Marina di Ugento, up to Santa Maria di Leuca where it is possible to appreciate the meeting of the two seas, Adriatic and Ionian).
It is also possible to choose the itineraries to reach the suggestive municipalities of the hinterland (Acaya, Galatina, Maglie, the municipalities of Grecìa Salentina, Cutrofiano, Capo di Leuca)

Where to begin. Firstly, the location was perfect. It was a 2 minute walk from Piazza Samt’oranzo (one of the main squares in the old town) and bars, restaurants, shops galore. However, it was perfectly situated enough away from the hustle and bustle not to hear any of the goings on. The property itself was amazing. Beautiful baroque architecture. High ceilings,, original stone walls and all kept in pristine condition. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The mezzanine got very warm so it was essential to have the fan on when sleeping up there but was very cozy. The one bedroom that had air conditioning was perfect. The kitchen had everything you needed and the the two bathrooms proved very useful for my family of 5. The host was fantastic, always available (not that we needed to contact her that often) and extremely helpful. She communicated very clearly with us addressing all our questions well. She really went the extra mile organising a cot for our baby, having some water, food and snacks there for our arrival and even helping us out with travel arrangements from Brindisi airport. We stayed here for a total of 4 weeks and it was absolutely perfect t. Lecce itself is just such a relaxed and beautiful place. Will 100% be back!

A Great Stay in Central Lecce

Beautiful house in Lecce
We had a wonderful stay in Lecce. The city is beautiful and the location is very central. The house was very clean and nicer than the pictures. The rooms are beautiful and everything worked well. Maria was very helpful and communicative- thank you for making feel at home! As a note when staying in the old city: parking will be a little distant, so expect to walk about 10 minutes.

Family vacation in Italy
This was my first time using VRBO internationally and I was extremely happy with the service and the owner. I really appreciated that they allowed a 100% refund as close to my stay and that they didn’t require final payment so far in advance. Many American rentals are not so generous or trusting. Fortunately, our travel went as expected and there was no need to cancel, etc. The apartment was lovely and Maria Grazia was very helpful with the check-in process. She met us upon arrival and provided nice instructions in advance with parking options during our stay which was much appreciated. The location was central to the historic district, and we thoroughly enjoyed our walks through town and evening dinners out in lovely Lecce. Thank you!

Excellent communication, well equipped, great location. Would recommend. Only thing was lack of comfy seating area. When relaxing between exorong Lecce and then going out in the evening had to sit on bed. Outside area small and in shade which is good in Sumner but we visited in April. the area with a small bed on floor could be changes to having a small sofa to sit on.

Great stay in Lecce
We had a great stay in Lecce. The Apartment is centrally located, a 2 minute walk from the old town and main piazza. It was well appointed, the hosts friendly and attentive, and had everything we needed. When we couldn't find a bread-board, Maria purchased one that same day and dropped it off. Nothing was too much trouble. Lecce was lovely and the apartment was very easy to live in for a short stay. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Great Location
Marie Grazia is a lovely host. She met us at the station and took us to a supermarket. She was also super responsive when we had a problem. A great location in the centre made everything accessible. Commfortable bed Very clean. The apartment is on the ground floor. The heating works very efficiently. It comprises of two good sized double bedrooms, two bathrooms a kitchen and a bed on the mezzanine. Although we knew this from the accurate description we had not realized that we would miss the option of having easy chairs. The apartment and the bed felt slightly damp when we arrived. The heating was very useful.in sorting this for us.

Very attractive apartment in the old center city.
It was a lovely space, although there is one thing that any potential renter should be aware of. Public parking is necessary, and because it's a busy spot, we never took day trips because we might come home in the evening and not be able to find a spot. Also, it was necessary to walk 15 minutes every morning at nine to put a day's worth of coins into the machine. It wasn't a huge thing, but it might be a factor for some. One other thing, the kitchen could have been a little better equiped.

Great location in old town with 3 separate sleeping spaces. (The loft is a twin bed.) We did have an issue with the hot water, but Maria was very responsive and worked hard to resolve the issue.

Perfect location
I A wonderful location right in the middle of the old city. Perfect for two couples. Maria was always available to help us with our questions. The only drawback is that you can NOT park anywhere near this property as the listing says. The nearest parking lot is a 15 minute walk away and you need to plug the meter every day by 9:00am. Other than that the property was perfect.

Misleading information
Please be aware that some information regarding this property is inaccurate and misleading. The property is well presented and conveniently situated in the historic centre of the old city of Lecce, however as my wife suffers from mobility issues and is currently awaiting major orthopaedic surgery we specifically researched accommodation with onsite parking for our trip (as advertised at this property!) On arrival we found that the property is within the ZTL restricted traffic area and we had to park a considerable distance away in a “pay and display” car park leading to us having to curtail many of our planned excursions to the surrounding area and make frequent trips to feed a parking meter while our rental car enjoyed a more restful vacation than we did.

Beautiful apartment in perfect location
Wanting to see more of Puglia, my family and I anchored in Lecce for 4 nights. The apartment was in a great location, spacious, and pretty. The small courtyard made drying clothes easy. The only parking was paid parking outside of the ZTL, and the meter had to be maintained, which meant that my husband and to wake up and pay each morning before 9:00. We always found a parking spot as we came and went from the city, but a couple of times, that seemed like a small miracle. Additionally, there is AC in only one bedroom. We used the provided fan to pull the cool air through the apartment at night since we strayed there in July. I can imagine that the apartment gets warm only a couple months a year, as the vaulted stone ceilings kept things fairly comfortable even when it was stifling outside. Our host was responsive and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would return to this location, for sure.

Spacious, clean and a great location. Full sized kitchen was great as well as the private patio. The location could not be better, and for the size of this place it is a great value. The hosts picked me up at the airport and made everything as easy as possible. My only complaint is that the neighbors above are a bit loud, talk loudly until late hours. You can only hear this with the back door open (Master Bed). If you close it, then no noise. Great place, you won't be sorry.

Perfection in the heart of Lecce & Salento
Simply put, stay in this apartment/house for its ideal location in Lecce's historic centre, easy access to the Adriatic & Ionian coasts by car, and very welcoming and accommodating hosts! Positive features only, among them: - Unbeatable location: Located right in the middle of the buzzing old town, yet on a quiet quaint residential street. Immediate access to main sights, main squares with stunning architecture, restaurants, etc. A magnificent sandstone church marks where to turn off to find your Lecce home. Live like a local...and one who lives well. - Spacious & comfortable interior with useful amenities: Bedrooms with high vaulted sandstone ceilings, large beds with good mattresses, full-sized kitchen with all necessities, two bathrooms (each with a shower!) & even a laundry room with excellent washing machine & laundry sink! - Gracious hosts: The hosts are doing everything right. They ensure that you feel welcome upon arrival. They reply to texts, answer questions & make recommendations, showing that they genuinely care. Good, good people. - Access to beaches on both coasts: Exit the city extremely easily to access highways to idyllic beaches on either the Adriatic or Ionian beaches. - Excellent price: Very reasonable price for all of the above. Basically, stay here when in Puglia if you want to enjoy town, country & sea. Thank you!!

Peaceful haven in the bustle of historic Lecce
We spent a week in Lecce, staying in this wonderful apartment. I would so recommend it for anyone wanting to experience staying in the heart of the Lecce, yet enjoying the peaceful and calm surrounds the property gives. Right from the start Maurizio and Paola were wonderful hosts. Meeting us outside the City wall and guiding us though the narrow streets of old Lecce to drop off our luggage. They were very attentive to any queries or advice we needed. One of the highlights of our stay was visiting Maurizio in his wine shop and learning more about his passion for natural wines. On our departure he even transported our luggage to the our car, saving us negotiating the return trip into the historic centre. The apartment is only a matter of minutes from the centre of Lecce, so all the churches and restuarants are very close. We also used our car to explore other areas. We went to Gallipoli, Porto Cesareo (lovely beach), Alberobella and Ostuni. The apartment is spacious and very stylish. Because of the thick walls it remains cool even in the heat of the day.
