Enchanting hotel with incredible views
It is a historic hotel with incredible views of mono lake. Get ready to feel transported into the pioneer era with these themed rooms and gorgeous, well maintained grounds that feature a waterfall and shady aspens. The Kit Carson room has been our favorite so far because of the view and the more modern stand up showers. This east facing hotel is in the front row for lightning and thunder storms, sunsets and sunrises. Waking up to watch the sunrise is an absolute must. Like many of the hotels in the area, it is situated next to the hwy. Ear plugs are a good bring as truckers pass by throughout the night.

A lot of tables and chairs outside of the room so my family could put all foods brought on the table. We really enjoyed yard dining while watching views of the Mono Lake.

Pretty landscaping. Cute rooms. However, right on highway, so a little noisy.

Very clean, with an old-fashioned look. Beautiful setting, above Mono Lake, close to town of Lee Vining. Some are individual cabins, but my "cabin" was a room (#9, "Vintners cabin") comprising the top half of an A-frame. I picked it because it had a large window looking right over Mono Lake (across the highway, but 395 is a small highway). Amazing view. Pretty room with an old-fashioned look - antique desk and pretty upholstered chair, wrought-iron-looking bed. This property is quaint and charming, small but has a little bridge over a rushing creek, cabins scattered around. Right on 395 so you will hear some highway noise, which didn't bother me. I heard no other noise. Lawn outside with a table or two. I was coming after the office closed (9pm) so staff left my key pinned to bulletin board at the office. Office building is a bit hard to find if you are coming from the north! It's past the first cabins/ first parking pullout. Parking a bit tight, and not necessarily available immediately next to your cabin, at least if you come late like I did. Most of the cabins are not wheelchair-accessible, the grounds are sloping, grassy with some unevenness - depending where you park a few steps up and down the grounds may be needed to get between car and cabin. And into cabin.

Full review
I'll give a full review the cabin I stayed in #3 was adorable furnished well with small fridge coffee maker and fluffy towels. Also standing air conditioner but (loud) also located right on hwy and the semi's coming through its very loud. The bed very comfortable so that helped. Security and privacy of your into that this is not the place. Door locks I had to fight with key and inside locking needs to be replaced fully also the blinds throughout the cabin anyone can look in from the sides - on one window (I'm a female traveling alone with a small dog) I literally had to hang a towel because from that vantage point you could watch me laying in bed. The high back tub was a treat I'm 5'5 I got just perfect - ladies if you blow dry your hair there was no outlet by the vanity. There are other rooms and cabins on the property this review is for this particular cabin only. The view from the front is incredible of Mono lake close little town (driving distance) has some gas stations restaurants it's small but perfect. I give the property owner 5 star for decorating but security and privacy need to be addressed. I was able to have my dog for a very fair fee $30 and that was very much appreciated.

The cabin was small but comfortable. The staff was friendly. The furnisings both inside and out are showing wear. The property is on the highway so there is road noise, but it was quiet at night so did not impact sleep. Their restaurant was not open so plan to drive into Lee Vining for meals. I would definitely stay again.there again.

Highway noise is overwhelming and kept us awake all night. The cabins themselves are good and the lake view is great. The sprinklers turn on at random hours and there is no way to escape the spray if you want to get out of the cabins. Overall this is hack of a facility that might be okay for a single night highway side stay.

Charming and otherworldly resort. It was a pleasant stay with great decor and a charming property. The 5 am view of the lake was the most gorgeous view I have seen just from our patio and even from our bed.

A nice little lodgey place for a reasonable market cost. Decent bed. Beautiful lake view. Tiny kid sized toilet. Nifty but small closet. Good paint. Wood plank floor. Convenient parking. Because it’s roadside you might enjoy earplugs.

Quaint with minimum service. Cannot check in until 4:00pm as reception is locked. Next to 395 and Mono lake so the view is exceptional.
