HOME FEATURES:
The two apartments in this 2,240 sq/ft home are connected by a beautiful, window-filled sunroom hallway that faces directly west into the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. This open layout makes the home ideal for a family vacation. But for separate couples traveling together who may want more privacy, each apartment also has its own outdoor access. So, the two apartments can be locked separately, if desired.
Each apartment contains a full and well-equipped kitchen (with cooking and dining utensils, automatic dishwasher, full-sized refrigerator, oven and range, microwave, and coffee maker), a full bath, living and dining areas, and a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, dressers, and a closet. Need even more sleeping space? The futon couch in the sunroom/hallway folds out into a full-sized bed that's 1) very comfortable (especially with its memory foam mattress topper), 2) offers some of the prettiest views in the house, and 3) has its own 1/2 bath.
Both the front and back decks have comfortable outdoor seating and dining tables.
PETS ARE WELCOME AT OUR FARM STAY:
We provide bowls, food mats, drying towels, poop bags, and everything we think guests would need when traveling with a dog. Plus, just 20–30 yards off the back deck is a very large, fenced-in dog play area with a super-large dog house. When guests are not traveling with a dog or do not intend to use this space, it is home to a small flock of chickens and three of the cutest little goats you'll ever meet. And cattle can often be seen grazing just a short distance away. (Electric fencing is used to contain the cattle but is clearly marked.)
FAMILY FRIENDLY:
We try to provide everything we think a family can need: a highchair, Graco Pack n' Play, outlet wall plugs, bathtub stoppers, tied-back blind pulls, out-of-reach cleaning supplies, and plenty of extra washcloths, towels, and wipes. Both the front and back decks have latching gates. But if there is anything else a family could need (or desired modifications to the living space), we'll do everything we can to accommodate.
SHELTERED FIRE PIT:
Under the back deck is a covered fire pit (that can double as a wood or charcoal grill for roasting marshmallows and hotdogs or grilling burgers and veggies) while you're enjoying the sunset over the mountains and the night sky on cool evenings. (We provide the firewood, mitts, grilling equipment, and outdoor seating.)
CONVENIENCES NEARBY:
Fortunately, the conveniences of a city are just minutes away. We're within 4 miles of a large Ingles grocery supermarket, Walgreens, restaurants, and most anything else you could need. And we're 11 miles from downtown Asheville and 12 miles from Biltmore Estate.
CHECK-IN OPTIONS:
We enjoy welcoming guests but a key lock box is available for guests who prefer self check-in.
