Market Bosworth is a lovely town and Bosworth Hall is beautiful on the outside, set in very pretty grounds on the edge of countryside.
However, the building is very tired and shabby in all areas. We arrived at 9.30pm having driven from Cornwall. When the gentleman at reception eventually arrived we did not get a friendly welcome. We had requested on booking a room that had not had pets in (my partner is severely allergic) and after consideration he said he would upgrade us to an executive room to make sure.
There was obviously a halloween disco taking place which was very loud and there were quite a few unsavoury looking characters around, so we went straight to the room.
The room was large but ‘tired’ and the bathroom was very shabby. There were only plastic glasses, only 1 pillow each (with no extras in the cupboard), the tv didn’t work (although we weren’t that bothered) and there was a coffee machine that took some figuring out, particularly as the instructions were minute and not very clear.
When we checked out, the lady receptionist was more interested in the ink on her hands than us.
We have stayed a few times before, purely for convenience, but will not be staying again. Such a shame as it has the potential to be wonderful.
