A spacious living room, retaining the wonderful details in the plasterwork and cornices, has an Adam-style fireplace with inset wood burner, and there is a beautiful bay window with shutters, comfortable sofas and a Smart TV for your entertainment.
The living room leads through to a spacious dining area with a wood burner and Smart TV, and this runs alongside the kitchen and utility area, making a great space for everyone to gather and socialise, enjoy good food and make plans. Perfectly designed, the walk-through utility area houses all your appliances and coffee machine, opening into the light and airy kitchen area with fabulous SMEG electric range cooker, all set within stylish Shaker-style units. Within the kitchen is a relaxing seating area with Smart TV and bi-folding doors, a perfect spot to sit and look out onto the garden terrace with your morning coffee. On the ground floor there is a double bedroom and separate shower room with double walk in rainfall shower.
Upstairs are three spacious bedrooms with a variety of sleeping arrangements available on request. High quality mattresses and crisp bedding make for a good night’s sleep. One of the bedrooms on this floor has a zip and link kingsize bed (can be twin beds on request) and a vanity unit with a wash basin. Another has twin beds, which can be super kingsize on request with Scandinavian style quilts (ie two single quilts). Two further bathrooms on this floor are beautifully finished with quality fixtures and fittings and rainfall showers.
Escape to the second floor and you will find a spacious galleried space, whether for a place to enjoy reading or a peaceful game of chess. There is also a desk and workspace with additional screen, network connection and printer. Hidden away on this floor you may like to retreat to the luxury bathroom. Two steps down take you into a bathroom with vaulted ceiling and beams. There is restricted head height but absolutely worth it to spend time relaxing in the gorgeous slipper bath.
Outside is an enclosed and private garden to enjoy. A patio area with flower beds and a variety of seating, perfect for a morning coffee under the pergola or maybe fire up the BBQ and enjoy an al fresco family supper. You may prefer to simply park up and enjoy everything you need from this base.
West Burton village has an attractive village green around which you will find a good local butcher, village shop and tearoom and traditional inn serving local ales and food. An ideal location from which to walk, tour or cycle in idyllic Wensleydale. Take a picnic to the hidden waterfalls in West Burton (just off the village green) or visit the traditional market towns of Leyburn and Hawes, both within 10 miles. Here you will find an array of individual shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants. Just 1 mile away you can admire Aysgarth Falls, where the waterfall scenes in ‘Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves’ was filmed. Historic Jervaulx Abbey is within 10 miles and the Forbidden Corner, a quirky folly garden is under 5 miles and well worth a visit. There is something here for all age groups and interests. Shop and pub 250 yards, restaurant 5 miles.
