The owners have retained many of the original features including exposed stone walls and ironwork and complemented them with stone flagged and oak floors, antique rugs, leather sofas and old oak chests. All furnishings have been individually chosen to reflect the colour and feel of the surrounding Dales: green, dark reds, slate, wood and wool all give the impression of the outside and inside blending together.
Entrance is by four stone steps that lead over a flagged veranda and through double doors into a wide panelled hallway. To the left is a loft style, open plan kitchen, dining and living area with a rich oak floor, double aspect windows, and leather sofas. Also off the entrance hall is a spectacular double height bedroom with super king-sized bed, huge double aspect windows overlooking the waterfalls, beck and moors beyond. Copper lights hang from the old mill workings, antique rugs adorn the flagged floor and luxurious furnishings make this a room you won't want to leave. Adjacent to this bedroom is a panelled bathroom with flagged floor, bath, shower, washbasin, toilet and yet another incredible view to the waterfall. To the far side of the living area a door leads to another very stylish bedroom with open views of the river and dales, a lovely king size oak bed, exposed stone walls and old prints of the local waterfalls by Turner when he stayed in Wensleydale.
The Mill is set off to the lower end of the village of West Burton by the beautiful Cauldron Falls, giving the benefit of privacy whilst only a two minute walk from the village with its pub, shop, butchers and historic village green. It is surrounded by ancient woods, moors, streams and wildlife. There are footpaths from the doorstep leading up through wildflower meadows or sledging in winter making this an ideal area for those wanting to get away from it all.
