Our unit is a privately owned hotel room located in the Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort and Spa.

Its Time to Relax in Style! One of the Best ocean views on property. Our unit has two Queen beds and is an end unit closest to the beach!!! Only steps from the sand.

The Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort and Spa is a beautiful Hawaiian plantation-style resort located on 25 acres of lush Garden Isle, centrally located between Kauai’s south and north shores, making it perfect for your island adventures. Only minutes from the airport, Costco, Walmart and Shopping. You will go thru a tree canopy lined drive that leads to the resort. Several acres of beach front property to enjoy and explore. On property there are four swimming pools, complete with water falls, a poolside cabana bar and grill, two jacuzzies, fitness center and day spa. Paradise will be your back yard!

HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES
• Please note that daily maid service is not included when renting direct through VRBO. The cleaning fee included in your payment to VRBO covers cleaning/re-stocking the room after your stay.
If you would like a mid-stay cleaning (maid service) for your room it is $65 each cleaning.

As Private Unit guest you have full access to the pools, whirlpool spas, the grounds, the beach, the business center, the restaurants, the lounge, the poolside bar, live music, the fitness room, coin laundry access and the Hawaiian Rainforest Spa.

By renting via VRBO you avoid paying the $25 per day resort fee charged by Kauai Beach Resort. However, the Hawaiian Cultural classes, which include classes like Hula and Lei Making are not included as part of your stay.

FAQs - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS THIS CONDO OR A HOTEL ROOM?
Both. The resort was previously a Hilton hotel, the units are just like hotel rooms. However, they are privately owned “condotels”. The resort operates much like a hotel, and most guests are not aware that the units are privately owned. Most of the units are offered to the public through the resort or through travel sites at much higher retail prices. Although, a few are offered on VRBO at owner rates with access to the resort’s amenities.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RENTING ON VRBO vs. THE RESORT
The $$$ price and also maid service. Renting direct through VRBO saves you a lot of money. However, daily maid service is not included. The cleaning fee you pay when booking takes care of cleaning and restocking the unit after your stay.

DOES THE UNIT HAVE A KITCHEN?
No. They do not have kitchens they were previously hotel rooms.

ARE WE ABLE TO COOK IN THE UNIT?
No. Local fire ordinances do not allow cooking in any of the rooms. The resort has a microwave in the lounge area on the 5th floor of Building 2 that can be used by all guests.
WHAT IS THE RESORT’S BEACH LIKE?
The resort is located on a 3-mile stretch of beautiful beach, amazing for long walks. The beach is very scenic but, is not considered a swimmable beach as it has a decent amount of coral. The surf is also unpredictable. It's best is to go to some of Kauai's many famous beaches for swimming. Lydgate Beach park is a nearby beach that is good for swimming.

SHOULD I GET A CAR?
We recommend that you have a rental car. The resort has most everything you need to have a wonderful time and relax. A car will allow you to experience many popular attractions, buying groceries, and going to many amazing restaurants etc. If you want a car for a day or two there is an on-site Enterprise car rental agency. The rates are higher but it is an option for a short rental.

IS THERE FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE FROM THE AIRPORT?
No. The shuttle service from the airport is not available to our guests. The resort does offer free shuttle service to/from the airport for guests who book through the resort. Kauai Beach Resort is close the airport which make taxi prices more reasonable. Uber also operates on the island!

ARE THERE BEACH TOWELS TO TAKE TO THE BEACH?
Your stay includes 4 pool/beach towels.

DOES THE RESORT CHARGE A RESORT FEE?
Private owner guests are not required to pay the $25 daily resort fee.

DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR A DAILY PARKING FEE?
Yes, if you have a car the resort charges $35 /day for parking. This fee is paid by the guest to Kauai Beach Resort at check-in.

DO I GET FREE WI-FI INTERNET SERVICE?
YES! Wi-Fi is FREE in all the units. The signal extends into the lobby, restaurants, bars and in the pool area!

Very nice resort and room with Oceanside views
We had a really good experience staying at the Outrigger Kauai Resort. The resort had nice pools, hot tubs, restaurants, bars, and a café gift shop. It was also really nice to walk out to the beach to watch sunrises and sunsets. The resort location was close to almost everything we wanted to do. The room was clean and functional with a great view from the lanai.

Love this place and would definitely stay again! The sunrise is glorious from the lanai! The location is central and convenient but you do need a car. Staff here are super helpful. Some remodel going on but it was never an issue.

The resort is very nice and well kept. Great view of the beach from the balcony. The room is small and not as described. It is not a one bedroom but a two bed studio. No microwave. Two beds, it would have been nice to have a queen or king bed instead. Room itself is small and outdated. The resort has a parking lot but charges $32.00 a day, should be free for guests. Beach is not swimmer friendly very rough conditions. Pool better option. Overall had a good time. Host Crystal was very helpful and a pleasure to talk to.

The view was awesome! The resort is beautiful! Centrally located between great beaches and activities. The owner was very easy and accommodating. The unit could use a little TLC especially the mattresses. Other than an uncomfortable night’s sleep it was great!!!

Great pools and gardens. The ocean view is incredible, but keep in mind that you can’t swim on the property beach, waves are too strongs. I read that this is a former Hilton resort, today the resort needs a little bit more love and maintenance… It is a little bit dated and not as clean as we would expected. This is definitely not a Hilton quality, but still decent for the price. This specific unit has a gorgeous ocean view, a real full ocean view !!! Please note that this unit is privately own and is not managed by the resort management directly, except for the check in. The front desk was very clear, almost rude, about the fact that we don’t have the same service has the other guests… and that if we have any problem we need to contact the private owner…. At the end it did not change our stay, but keep in mind that you don’t have any room cleaning, no extra towels and no possibility of changing room if there is a problem with the unit….etc….

Beautiful view!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Kauai Beach Resort. There were were some pros and cons, but you have to approach any Hawaiian vacation, especially one on Kauai with the viewpoint that you are on a vacation in a tropical location on one of the most isolated islands in the world. Things are slower here, and that’s just how it should be. Pros: The view from the room is incredible, the resort has plenty of pools, never had to fight to find a chair at the pool, restaurant on resort had great breakfast, resort had live music and fun activities during the day at the pool, nice beach for walking, new linens and pillows, room was quiet at night, majority of guests were very down to earth and fun people! Cons: Room is dated and has few drawers (basically, it’s a hotel room from the 90’s), some resort maintenance was waiting on parts from mainland (two of the five pools had issues during our stay and were caution taped closed), the tiki torches and outdoor fireplace was only lit one night during our stay due to assumed natural gas problems. Overall, the pros waaayy overpowered the cons, especially at this price point during peak season. If you are looking for the best view in Kauai at a reasonable price, stay here!

Amazing view of the ocean with a nice breeze and spectacular sunrises. Only ate at the once in the restaurant (breakfast) which was delicious, regret not having dinner. Staff friendly and helpful. Air conditioning was great, keeping the room nice and cool - just the way I like it. Would rent again if ever here again.

We really enjoyed our time at this property. The grounds were beautiful and the view from the room was amazing. The only downfall was the beds were really small. They were twin beds but they didn't even feel that big. It made it difficult to sleep 4 in the room. I assumed a 2 bed room would be queens as there was plenty of room to do so. Otherwise this was a great property and a great experience.

Room pretty dingy and not efficient; needs modernization
We had seen comments that the room need updating, and boy were they right. The housekeeping staff did a good job, but the carpet and walls are very worn, dirty, and nicked up. There is dry wall/plaster missing from corners and other places on wall had a lack of repair or messy repair jobs. There are electrical outlets scattered about the room that are hard to get to or where no furniture is to plug in phones, iPads, etc. We had to use luggage as a table, as there is only one nightstand in-between the two beds. The safe was non-functional. When we called the owner, we were told it was on backorder. The bathroom did not have plugs above the counter where you could have charged a phone, they were by the bathroom door. Bathroom had no stopper in the sink. Tile had been replaced, but outdated. Looked like the original bathroom configuration, which was not convenient. Had only lukewarm water for some showers. You do have an ocean view, but with having that, it is a very long walk to the restaurant and bar and parking. We don’t mind that usually, but 5 out of 7 days we had 20-30 mph sustained winds with gusts to 50 and of course, frequent rain. Food was very good, grounds beautiful and kept up nicely. One of the two hot tubs smelled like sewage, so we avoided that. It was way too cool and windy to enjoy the pool until our last day.

Other than the rain every day the trip was pretty good, loved our unit the best view of the grounds Million dollar view. The resort needs to put more options on their menus same food in all the restaurants. The only other thing would like to see a microwave in the room.

Nice view, overall nice property. The room could use some simple updates to make the experience more enjoyable. A Microwave, comfortable chair, a few more lamps and plug-ins. Seems easy enough. Of course we would have loved bigger beds and more pillows but that's a bigger expense the owner would have to take on. The Owner was very nice and had great communication.

This place might have been nice on the 80’s, but it needs to be revamped really badly. The room has an ocean view that you can’t beat, but the actual room is horribly outdated, overpriced and underwhelming in every aspect.
