The staff at 9Hotel Mercy were absolutely terrific! the breakfast at the restaurant was extensive, fresh, hot and delicious with many local pastries we enjoyed immensely. Everyone spoke English, was warm, compassionate, friendly, and extremely helpful. Our only difficulty was a problem with the shower which required us to move to a different room. The hotel was full they couldn't move us that night so we had to wait till someone checked out the next day. They gave us a bottle of port and apologized for our inconvenience. Once we switched rooms everything was fine. They were also very accommodating when we had to leave before breakfast hours one morning and they let us go into the restaurant during the set up time and eat early. The hot dishes were not yet available but there were plenty of other things and we were very happy. They also got us reservations at a lovely restaurant in the neighborhood with terrific service and delicious food. We heard beautiful, passionate fado music there (singers and guitars). It was a really special night out! Highly recommend 9Hotel Mercy!

We were a little concerned that the noise from the busy streets with people partying and drinking might make it a hard place to sleep, but the rooms were quiet. We walked across the street for the best breakfast we had in Lisbon, and all the major attractions were within walking distance.

About 9Hotel Moldy. Stay was Oct. 4-7, 2024. At check-in we were advised that there would be one bottle of water in our room for the whole stay, otherwise we would have to pay for water out of the mini fridge. Why is this pettiness even discussed with someone who is paying $359 for a suite? We opened the door to Suite 601 and were immediately hit with a strong smell of mold. The bathroom was worse. If we weren't so tired (10:00 p.m.) at check-in, we would have turned around and checked back out. We called about this every day at least once, causing stress and wasting our vacation time. No one ever did anything about it. They would send the housekeeper up and have her scrub the shower again. Of course this wasn't going to solve anything. They needed a professional to address the root of the problem. Speaking of the shower, It flooded every time you took a shower. Water pooled and spilled out onto the floor. The sink also drained slowly. The vinyl flooring is coming up in several places and it caused my husband to trip a couple times. The hotel is quite dark, from the breakfast room, lobby to our room. The hallways are black. The bathroom is all black, floors, doors, walls. This is not conducive to doing things you need to do in a bathroom such as your hair and makeup. I did my makeup on the terrace. It isn't practical. This was our 40th anniversary trip. The other hotels we stayed at were incredible. We actually dreaded coming back to the Hotel9 Moldy each night

The area is great. Close to everything, however as a Boutique hotel it needs some work. We had one of the suites and it was worn down. Carpet was stained. Stains on couches. The walls also needed to cleaning and fresh paint.

This hotel is in a great area for tourist. We arrived a bit early around 11 am and no room was available. We were asked to return at 3pm for a room. I was a bit disappointed that after flying all night and arriving at 10am. Got to the hotel at 11am. We were told that the room would be ready at 3pm and however the room was not ready at 3pm. We had to wait longer to get a room. Besides the arrival problem the hotel was 8/10 to me.
