Located in the beautiful Heldebergs, This is a cute little house you will love.

This cozy house is decorated with a cute Adirondack theme. There is a bedroom and bathroom downstairs. The upstairs loft is a large master suite with a queen bed and a futon. Downstairs is the open living room and kitchen with an electric fireplace. There is a charcoal park grill and small fire pit in the back yard. This is a great place for a fall foliage or Romantic get away. It is located near and has lake access to Thompsons Lake and close to many hiking or mountain biking trails in John Boyd Thachers Park (including the historic Indian Ladder Trail). Bring a fishing pole, kayak, SUP, or canoe and enjoy a paddle on the beautiful calm lake, or just sit by the lake and enjoy the nature and beauty. Many other hiking trails are nearby including Wolf Creek Falls Preserve, The Winn Perserve (both in Knox) , and The Huyck Preserve in Rensseelearville. For a bite to eat, Maple On The Lake is a great place to eat and enjoy Warners lake and is less than 10 minutes away.
If you like brewerys there are many nearby: Heldeberge Mountain Brewery, Back Barn Brewery, Wayward Lane Brewery, Green Wolf Brewery, Wolf Hollow Brewery, Frog Alley Brewery to name a few.
Only 15-20 minutes away you can visit the Altamont Orchards in Altamont (with restaurant, brewery, and golf course) or Indian Ladder Farms in Vohreesville, an orchard, store, and brewery. In August you can go to the Altamont or Cobleskill Fair.

Located only 30 minutes from Albany, this location is ideal. In Albany you can visit the NYS Museum, The Capitol Building, or The Albany Institute of History and Art. About the same distance to the west is the cute little town of Schoharie where you can find The Carrot Barn and The Apple Barrel, two favorite spots for lunch and shopping.

If you want to venture out an hour, You can get to Sharon Springs (Beekman Store) Copperstown (Baseball Hall of Fame) Saratoga (SPAC, Track, Museums) and hiking in the Catskill Mountains.

Two hours away you can find Lake George, Herkimer Diamond Mines, Woodstock, Stockbridge Ma (Norman Rockwell Museum) and The great Adirondack Mountains.

Approximately 3 hours away you can get to Niagara Falls, New York City, Boston, Plattsburgh and more.

My husband and I escaped our busy lives for a weekend and truly could not have asked for a better place for a respite. The back covered deck was phenomenal in sun and rain. We had a wonderful weekend away here and would definitely recommend this home to others.

The house was lovely and in a nice country setting. 2 minute walk to Thompson lake. It was perfect for the 2 of us. There were already condiments, spices and coffee pods. Decorated so country cabin like. Enjoyed the back porch in the morning listening to birds. It was very close to vooresville where family was. If I wasn’t with my elderly mother, I would have gone hiking at thatcher park, pretty much right down the road.

Such a sweet place
The owner has obviously really taken her time with and enjoyed the process of setting this cottage up for guests. Everything was so nice that my kids were ready to miss in! Beds are super comfy (even the futon!), plenty of towels, nice toiletries, etc. Really excellent. Looking forward to returning.

My kids and I really enjoyed our stay. It is a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Just a short 5 min drive to thatcher park and lake access to Thompson lake. Enjoyable even in the middle of February. We would have stayed longer if we could have. Can’t wait to go back

Perfect Getaway
Staying at this cabin was everything we hoped. Tucked away and with access to State parks, hiking trails, farms, wineries, and a short drive to Albany, Erika’s cozy cabin was exactly the escape we needed. The cabin is exactly as depicted, felt cozy, was well-kept, and was outfitted to recharge us. I’ll definitely book this listing again when I return upstate!

Wonderful home, wonderful location
Adorable little cabin, very clean, great hospitality, fabulous location for a peaceful getaway! Erika was very warm, welcoming and accommodating! The space worked well for our group. My husband and I were in the downstairs bedroom, and my sister, her husband, and son were upstairs in the loft. It was the perfect place for us to visit nearby family.

We loved our stay in Erika’s charming and comfortable house. We greatly enjoyed the quiet location and appreciated all of the attention to detail especially the wonderful woodland theme. The location was convenient for exploring many nearby points of interest - from hiking Indian Ladder Trail, Vroman’s Nose, and Rensselaerville Falls to biking a section of the Erie Canal and venturing to Saratoga National Battlefield. We definitely would stay here again!

Cute cottage in the woods
This cute cottage lived up to it's reputation! Nestled in the woods just a short walk from Thompsons Lake and just a short drive to all parts of Thatcher Park. Inside the cottage was fully furnished, cozy and comfortable. Erika was kind, helpful and made our stay an enjoyable one.

Beautiful, clean and cozy cottage by the lake
2 college friends stayed at Erika’s beautiful, clean and comfy cottage and had a great time. The location was perfect for us since it was near the Albany airport and had a beautiful lake behind the house. It was a short walk down the hill and Erika had 2 chairs for us to sit and enjoy the view. The house had everything we needed to cook during the week and a cute deck out back to enjoy the view of the trees. The hammock was also a great touch! Best of all, the house was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Erika lives down the road but we never saw her or her family. She was very receptive with any questions and gave us plenty of suggestions to do in the area. We had friends in Stamford so we were back and forth throughout the week. We will definitely stay here again! Next time we want to take advantage of the lake and rent a kayak or a paddle board. The lake was clean to go for a swim but it was a bit chilly for us. There was a state park close by to rent kayaks but you have to drive into the campground. Wifi was great too since we both worked while we were there. We really enjoyed our stay!

Pleasant stay
We thoroughly enjoyed this cute little cottage for our short stay. My husband and I and our neighbor came up to attend the American Legion event in Altamont. This was a perfect location for that event. We were only 5 minutes away. The house was comfortable, the bed was comfortable, a nice porch on the back to sit out when we wanted to. The owner was very accessible and answered questions immediately. I would highly suggest this for anyone's upcoming stay.

The house is in a remote setting but is still a manageable drive to many sites like the impressive Opus 40, the Saugerties Lighthouse, Howes Caverns, Saratoga Springs, Albany and the nearby Thacher state park.

This property is a great private getaway! We also really enjoyed eating at the Maple restaurant located close to the house. The restaurant was located on Thompson’s lake. Overall, this was an excellent place to relax :-)
