Better just to camp
The bed was so comfortable yet we had complete lack of sleep. The bar hosts event evenings that are loud. We spent the first night on karaoke night and the music was horrid and could be heard in our second floor room. The second night was DJ night and the music was louder and worse. People from the bar exited under our window where they would proceed to scream at each other and on the second night I jumped out of bed during the fight because one party tried to hit the other with a car. Our room was “upgraded” because when we got there about a half hour after check-in time we were locked out. We were told they were at lunch and would be back in about 15 minutes-it was 30. Gentleman who checked us in (may have been the owner) was extremely apologetic and kind. We live the idea of staying at a place that is historic and don’t mind a bit of renovation mess because we are comfortable in a tent. The room was nice enough but the bathroom was sketchy and frankly no better than a state campground facility. The water controls moved on their own when showering so you had to be careful. The sink leaked -not dripped leaked. “Curtains” provide little relief from outside light. TV did not work properly unless we used our own accounts and even then it would constantly kick you off so you had to log back in. From what we saw renovations involved slapping a coat or two of paint over what was once probably beautiful wood work. The area has great hiking and connections with nature

Raining on the Tin roof right outside the window was very loud all night long. And curtains allowed lights from the “city view” to shine directly into my room all night.

A moment in time
If you are looking to go back in time and enjoy the simpler times, then this is the hotel you want to stay at. The hotel hospitality was great and my room was like a blast from the past. I ask that you give them grace because they are a work in progress. I will be returning.

Charming historic hotel in the heart of a scenic Pennsylvania town. We came here for a spur of the moment holiday road-trip and were very pleased with our stay. Owners are friendly and responsive, and though the building shows it's age they obviously put a great deal of care into keeping it up and running. 10/10 would stay again

What a great place! I respect the owners for renovating the place, and they’re doing an AMAZING job. They were super friendly, and I know that others have mentioned the bed, but the BED! We literally want to come here each year and watch the progress they make on this property. Mad respect and a great stay!

Historic hotel but needing much work.
This is a historic hotel being revamped, however they have a lot of work to do. I had to get an extension cord to charge my phone since there was one plug in the room and that was used for the tv. The bathroom looked like a prison cell with ancient bare-bones fixtures where handles did not match or were falling off.

I understand a work in progress. However, it has a long way to go. When upgrades are done, they need to be professional and finished. You can't nail unpainted 1 x 4s to the wall and call it trim. Same for plywood floors. Maybe some grant funding could help. Best of luck to them - there is potential and the lady was kind.

The owners are super sweet and cater to what you need! It is under construction and a historical building. It has so much potential. My only complaint was the floor in our room was dusty. The rest was excellent customer service and loved the atomsphere and the bar inside! Will be back.

I realize that the owners are trying very hard to revitalize the property and they are very nice. I just think that a little more effort needs to be put into cleaning the rooms.

This is a hidden gem and I can't wait to see what it becomes as the owners finish the renovations. The hotel is an 1800's historic hotel that was commissioned by the Queen of Spain, however had fallen into disrepair. The new owners are a young couple, one of whom is a Navy Veteran, that have a great vision. If you want a modern, fancy hotel with a lot of bells and whistles...this is not. If you want a really unique, beautiful hotel...this is for you. One of our rooms had a steam bath and fireplace, the other had a claw foot tub. There is a lot of construction going on, but to us we didn't see that as an issue...it makes us admire their drive on restoring it. Great bar. We go to at least one football game a year in the area and I am looking forward to how it improves between now and then. I highly recommend it.

Rustic hospitable charm
The Fallon is in a very historic building (built in 1854) and has a rustic charm. My fiancé and I are very interested in historical buildings and loved all of the original hardware, old hardwood, etc. The family who owns this hotel are very hospitable and down to earth. The bar experience was very cool. With that being said, if you are looking for every modern amenity that a chain hotel has, this place is not for you. If you want to stay somewhere with a unique old-fashioned feel with a very personable touch, then this is the place for you!

Front desk clerk very friendly. Told that if I needed anything he would help me download What’s App as that is how guests communicate with staff. No phone in the room. Shower floor filthy- looked like mold/mildew. 1/3 roll of toilet paper was all that was in the room. Paint chips/flecks all over the floor. No WiFi that I could find, TV not connected. No heat in the room. I left just after 7am, no one at front desk and had to unlock front door to exit hotel- despite 24/7 staff advertised. Did not return for 2nd night of stay I paid for. Hotel appears to be under renovation but not really ready for guests.

Checked in and checked out 15 minutes later. Room smelled dusty and was no air conditioning, just a tower fan. I could hardly breathe inside the room. The wooden door was in bad condition and I felt unsafe. I’ve booked two nights, didn’t stayed and didn’t get a refund.

Upon arrival I was taken to the room O had rented and when the employee opened the door there was a couple having sex on the bed. I was left standing in the hallway for ten minutes and then the employee came back and took.me to a different room. The property is currently under construction and there is plywood covering the windows and walls everywhere and it was just a complete mess. It smelled insidethelobby, the hallwaysandin our room. Very unsatisfied. It has been fivedays since iur stay and i still haven'trecieved my $200 deposit back and i didnt even use the bathroom in this horrible establishment. Two Nights at the Fallon
The owners of the Fallon Hotel are delightful. The historical building is very interesting. It would have been nice to have cups to go with the coffee machine, and easier parking. My bed was very comfortable, but I couldn't get the TV to work. Overall, I was pleased with my stay and would go back again.

The owner needs to look at his completed rooms through the eyes of the guest. Mattress too big for room as couldn’t close bathroom door, mismatched furnishings. Streaky diagonal staining on paneling. Chipped paint in shower stall should be removed or stripped not painted over. Same goes for the old wallpaper and tile panels on the rest of the bathroom walls. Music from bar can be heard late into early morning. Electric fireplace right by fabric chair. View of boarded up windows of other half of hotel. Plastic at end of hall where other”renovations” are happening. No directions to fire exits on back of door. Floor staining chipping off and stuck to my feet.

We were planning to go to the Penn State Iowa game but the hotels in State College were exorbitantly priced, so when we found The Fallon that was 45 minutes away at an excellent price we were thrilled. And then we met the owner and staff onsite and were delighted. The building is incredible, the bed and linens were so comfy. The room had 15 ft high ceilings! So much historic charm. I'm recommending this hidden gem to all my alumni friends!
