Overall this is a fine property, but the vibrations and sound of the underground is significant - as you are very close to the Paddington station. Fortunately the Underground does not run during the middle of the night

Quick check in which I did online. Staff member on reception was friendly. Noisy outside the building. Inside there was a bunch of teenagers being very loud and one said something racist. Could hear everyone in the corridor late at night/early morning. Did not appreciate someone from housekeeping shouting through the door at me asking when I was leaving.

We spent 5 nights at the Dolphin Hotel. Since it truly was just a place to sleep as we toured as much of London as we could during our time, it did the job for my family of 4 (2 adults parents 19 year old & 16 year old). The hotel has 4 floors and no elevator (only stairs) and we were on the 4th floor. Tough/tiring getting your luggage up and down the stairs (luckily you only do it on the day you arrive and the day you leave). Location was ideal. Less than 5 minute walk to Paddington Station (great location). The room and bathroom were incredibly small (very little floor space), very dated and there is no air conditioning so it was very warm at night on the 4th floor (they did provide a small fan, but didn't help a lot). The front desk staff was very very nice and helpful when required. It was always staffed. So, overall a good place to lay your head down and sleep but not for much else... but in our case we didn't need much else. Bare minimums.

Nice hotel near Paddington Station
The hotel is a couple of minutes from Paddington Station so it is easily accessible from any airport via train/bus and tube. Other places in London are also very easy to reach from Paddington Station. Given that this is a 3 star hotel, we were very satisfied with the triple room that we booked. In the room there was a fan, towels, soap and shower gel, complimentary tee and coffee with electric pot, small refrigerator and a lot of electrical outlets. They can lend you adapter for a deposit of 5 £. The room was clean. You can book a breakfast in advance or each morning if you decide so. At time of our stay, breakfast was between 7.15-9.30. Continental breakfast was 6 £ and included coffee, tee, juices, milk, cereals, warm toast, boiled and scrambled eggs, 1 type of salami, 1 type of hard cheese, cottage cheese with cream, some cookies and cakes, chocolate spread and fruit. On each table was butter and jam. English breakfast was 9 £ and included all of the above plus you get a plate with 2 sunny side up eggs, slice of baked bacon, a small sausage, two cherry tomatoes, some baked beans and toast. All staff were very polite and helpful, before the stay via email and during our stay, both at reception and in the breakfast room. Upon advance notice you can leave your luggage on the day of arrival and day of leave at the reception for free. You can also use free toilet at the first floor (there is also a shower but we didn't ask, so I don't know if it is free).

Great find for value for money in London
Easy to find in a convenient location. Check in was quick and simple & even though I was a little early it was no issue. The single room was a decent size with a comfy bed and great bathroom, everything very clean. Up some stairs which was expected as I had researched that there's no lift. Everything I needed to use as base & close to Paddington station for underground access. Some pubs and eatieries nearby if I didn't want to venture far. Breakfast was tasty and just as expected. All in all perfect for me at a reasonable price. I will definitely be booking here again next time I want to spend a few days in London.
