Quiet, Private 2 BR/1.5BA Unit ~ Lake View, next to Wood Creek Boat Dock

This unit is located near the Wood Creek Boat dock. (Wood Creek Lake is a small lake in Laurel County, KY; there is no high speed boating, skiing, tubing or jet skiing) There are two bedroom with one having its own half bath. There is a great kitchen with plenty of pots and pans so that you can prepare your meals but if you want to travel to London it is only a short drive away. Located on 10 acres there is a short trail to walk down to the lake and there are woods to explore. There is parking for trailers but it is not right next to the cottage, it is about 250 feet away. Come spend a weekend, a week or a month in this lake front paradise. There are two similar cottages on the property for groups of up to 18. Winter guests should be aware that we are unable to remove snow from the walks and driveway so you stay at your own risk. Kentucky often has very mild winters so feel free to book your winter getaway with knowledge that if a snow storm is predicted for the area that you may cancel and receive a full refund if you cancel before your check-in date. If you must leave during your stay because of winter weather we will refund the daily rate for any days left in your stay but know that VRBO does not refund their fees when there is a partial refund. If you brave the snow it is beautiful down here. The property is also secured by cameras, one is located on a tree across the driveway capturing the front of the cottage. The other is on a tree behind the cottage capturing the parking area and rear of cottage.

I would not stay there again...
There was mouse poop in the silverware drawer and under the sink....sooo gross. The smoke alarm kept beeping throughout the night that the battery is low The lamp in the bedroom is broke and my nephew got zapped trying to turn it on There is water sitting in some of the pans in the cupboard...and they are black inside of them. The bed felt like it was going to break and it dips in the middle of it. There was a dirty cup in the sink and dishes in the dishwasher when we got there ( was not sure if they were clean or dirty)

This cottage is absolutely adorable! We stayed here for a wedding in the area and even squeezed in some fishing. The place is very clean and has a nicely equipped kitchen. I only have 2 small suggestions. As we are big coffee drinkers, a larger coffee maker would have been nice. And the tv seemed very dated. Neither of these things would keep me from staying again though!

Great Spot for A Lake Getaway
My son, my husband, and I enjoyed this place very much. The property manager sent directions instead of an actual address, which I thought was strange at first, but once you got down there it made a little more sense. The property was clean but needed the grass cut pretty badly. The grill was also out of propane, but there is a charcoal one as well that we were able to run up the street and purchase stuff for. Overall, for the price you can't beat it. Everything was pretty modern and looked nice inside. The driveway was a little iffy as the drive is an unmarked gravel road right after a pretty dangerous corner (which the property manager did mention in his directions). Our key code that was provided didn't work, so we called the owner and he came right away. Very friendly and responsive. Its about 30-40 mins from Laurel Lake, has its own little walk down to Wood Creek Lake, and is close to several small stores. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Thank you!

We enjoyed staying here. My husband and I came down to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary! The view was pretty. We enjoyed having our coffee out back, where we could see the lake. We drove down to the dock and did a little fishing. It was a nice place to rest and enjoy the weekend. We would definitely stay here again.

The cabin was great for four guys, five would have been a little tight. The parking is lacking if you take a boat it has to be parked down the hill toward the lake, if you need to charge batteries you need a couple hundred feet of cord. We also had three pickups and all three could not park at cabin. Don't take this as bad we had a great time and will go back again more prepared.

We came in for a fishing trip and had a blast regardless of the weather. The cabins are brand new and very cozy, comfortable and well made. The biggest issues were the driveway needs to be wider. I would have been stuck if it wasn't for 4x4.....and the neighbors dog likes to bark.....alot. but I didn't hear them inside.

Nice lake
We were looking for a place to essentially eat, shower, and sleep while enjoying the lake. The lake is beautiful and quiet. Though we didn't catch any monsters, we caught multiple fish every time we went out. The stairs aren't for the faint of heart, but we made the trek multiple times per day. The house was dated, but clean with good AC and hot water. The only reasons for star loss from us were the beds. To each their own when it comes to mattresses, but we tried both larger beds and both of us slept terribly for the duration of our stay.

BEAUTIFUL AREA WITH GREAT VIEW OF WOOD CREEK
Very nice place with awesome views! The place was very clean and stocked with just about everything you’d need. The beds were comfortable too! The only negative comment I have is that we had 2 trucks with trailers and with the big boulder in the middle of the turn around and a big dumpster on the side of the turn around, it was very challenging to get around and couldn’t get off the road very well. But other than that, I would highly recommend this place! It’s a great location with the gas and stores being within maybe 10 miles.

Very secluded but nice.
We rented for a weekend ride at wildcat off-road with 4 adults. Nothing fancy just a clean place to stay. View of lake was nice this time of year with no leaves on the trees. Only downfall was small turn around and driveway. We had a 25 foot trailer and there was a roll off dumpster in the turn around so was a little tight trying to maneuver around. Overall we had a great time.

What you see is what you get!
Everything was exactly as expected. Very clean, well kept. We had a very nice peaceful weekend here and enjoyed every minute.. Well maybe not the 2 minute climb up the steps, but every other minute! No really.. The bed was comfortable, the privacy was perfect. The satellite is hit or miss, but we came here to relax, unplug and fish anyway. I brought my own boat along and ended up having to put the boat in by myself and then had to walk back to the Marina to get my truck. The Marina is only about a 10 minute walk down the hill, so it worked out perfect! This place is definitely on my short list for future weekend fishing trips. Thanks Patrick, everything was great! You have yourself a nice little hidden gem here.

Lovely setting, quiet and restful
This place is so quiet and peaceful. Sitting on the porch in the morning, wow, such a blessing. The view from the dock is beautiful. We used the paddle boat, which was fun, and tried the kayaks. One of the kayaks was easier to use than the other. As other reviews have mentioned, the WiFi never worked for us. The tv worked just one evening, and never could get the DVD to play. It was fine for us since we had come more for time to read and talk and be outdoors. The area has enough people around that you don't feel isolated, but this little place is tucked in the trees enough to be private. Feels like a little retreat. The unit itself is clean and comfortable. Enjoy!
