Charming vintage home
Stayed at this house to climb for a few days at Alabama Hills, which was like 10 minutes away. Super clean home. Had everything we needed in the kitchen. The bed and futon were comfortable. Bedding was nice and cozy. On a quiet street, especially for a weekend. The owner was so nice and accommodating, even brought a new air mattress over for an extra person, along with an electric blanket to make sure we’d be warm. This will be my first choice for lodging every time I’m in Lone Pine. I highly recommend it.

Nice but lacking
Location is great. Close walking distance to everything. House was clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. Has a laundry room but no laundry soap. Bedroom bed was lumpy and out kilter. Bedding was nice. No television as the router box was missing. The World Series was on so this fact was kind of a downer. Back patio was still being worked on. Needs some lights.

Spacious and well supplied
The cottage worked out well for us while exploring the Whitney Portal area and Manzanar. The bed was comfortable and we had plenty of room. The shower was excellent. We enjoyed walking to restaurants both nights so didn't use the kitchen much but it was well stocked. The cottage sits on a commercial street across from the fire department but was very quiet while we were there. It feels like stepping back in time.

A convenient place for Alabama Hills
This is a small house a block off the main street in Lone Pine, which is a small town. Other than being right across the street from the fire house, it was quiet at night and quite private. Despite appearing old, it was exceptionally clean. Everything in the kitchen worked and there was a great assortment of utensils and cookware. My one suggestions is to bring a small nightlight. There's a step down from the bedroom to the utility room, then a stup up to the kitchen and bathroom. A night light would be helpful. I would stay here again to visit the incredible Alabama Hills.

Overall it was good
The location is prime. Parking wonderful. Space and amenities of the home were helpful. My only complaint is that the shower did not drain well so it quickly filled up the shower tray. After hiking and trying to rinse off the grime it was pretty gross to stand in the filth. I’m sure it’s an easy fix though!

Great Place for a Whitney Summit Stay
Walking distance to anything in Lone Pine you could want/need, easy parking, quiet street, quaint little place, and 30 min from the trailhead for Whitney Portal (currently Whitney portal road is closed and has a detour). Fantastic place to recover for a night after the grueling summit journey too. Really enjoyed our stay!

Great Location
This house is one block off 395 on a quiet street. The place was clean with soft bedding and thick towels. The kitchen has a very small work area and is well stocked. The building is quite old and somewhat dated but the things you will use, as well as the appliances are updated. There is a swamp cooler in the back of the house and if you are not familiar with them, you have to open a window a few inches to get the cold air to flow toward that area of the house. So, in this case, the living room window needs to be opened a few inches to pulled the cool air throughout the house. We based out of Lone Pine for 4 days of hiking and found this house perfect for our needs and would stay there again.

Exactly what ya need!
If you are fishing your way up or down 395 this place is exactly what ya need and nothing more. You can cook your catch and do your laundry, then walk around the corner to a fun saloon all before melting into a comfy bed. Next morning hit Alabama Hills Cafe and Bakery. Would/will stay again

Pretty basic 14’ wide place. We were there in August when it was 100 degrees out and the swamp cooler kept the room somewhat cooler and still sleepable… Met our needs for just a few nights stay. Best feature is location.

I just wanted to take a minute and say thank you so very much! The place was amazing and the hosts ability to be so flexible, allow us in hours early is unheard of. So thank you so much we had a fantastic time Mt Whitney was epic. We loved the place the bed sheets and pillows were so very soft and fluffy and the bath towels were great we loved the extra fluffy mats. The AC and fans were perfect. We had a great time and couldn't be more happy with your lovely cottage. We will be back another time. Thanks again.

Perfect for our visit to lone pine to hike Whitney. We felt so fortunate to have stumbled on this little gem. It was well provisioned with all the essentials (and some nice additional touches) to make our stay comfortable, and the location can’t be beat. Will definitely hope to stay again next time we visit.

House is in a great location to walk to anything in town! Not to far from Whitney portal about a 30 min drive due to a detour. (But the detour is a beautiful drive). Shower was hot and comfy bed!
