Unfortunately the room we had (205), the bathroom didn't have a fan, mold on the ceiling above shower. Toilet moved when you sat on it as it wasn't secured. Room as a whole could use a paint job, graffiti on room decorations even around tv frame. No nightstand lamps worked, outlet behind the bed was broken with no cover and exposed wires (they removed the lamp after day one), fridge was frozen over. They did change out our towels and dress the bed daily. Unfortunately expedia couldn't provide better accommodations as area was booked. We won't be returning.

I never received any communication from Del Mar in the days leading up to my reservation that properly communicated that check-in was at 1pm, so when I arrived bright and early at 8am I was informed that I could only check-in if I paid a $60 cash fee. I don't usually keep cash on me, so I had to use their ATM which to many might seem like not an inconvenience at all- but I'm definitely not a fan of ATM service charges. I ended up withdrawing $20 because there was also a $20 security deposit I needed to pay as well. Again, none of this was communicated to me leading up to my stay. While waiting for my room to become available another attendant asked if I had been helped and I let them know about what happened. They told me that check-in isn't until 2pm, so the staff isn't even on the same page in regard to check-in time if one is saying 1pm and the other is saying 2pm. The room does not come with a do-not-enter sign for the door, so the staff did come in while I was gone and left the TV on. It's an awkward feeling not being able to say "no thanks" to staff coming into the room, especially because I had expensive equipment in there that could have been damaged during the cleaning process. My last complaint is that at the end of a very long first day in town, when I finally came back to my room to sleep, my door card was not working, so I had to go back down to the office to have them re-activate it. This was a frustrating stay.

At checking-in, I was asked to hand in $20 as deposit and I was not given a receipt . When I checked out, I was not given the $20 back and I also forgot to ask. Two days later, when I came to get the $20 back, I was told that I have to come back the next day and it was my fault for not asking at check-out.

Scary weekend
This was just a weekend stay away from home. The pillow was simi-flat and the mattress was ok. I was waken up between 3-4 am on Saturday by gun fire. I swear it was next door as the shots were loud and noises like something or someone moving around or throwing something. It was very scary and I'll never stay here again. Around 4:30 am I looked out the window and there were two police cars and a fire truck. I just hope no body was actually hurt or killed.

Best thing was the cleanliness of housekeeping, but suffered from a lot of ants in my bathroom— water was also cold and WiFi went in and out frequently. Good for the money if you’re in for a quick work trip.

The hotel agent upon arriving tells you that you need $20 in cash and doesn’t provide a receipt. He tells you that you’ll get it upon checking out in which I did. Upon arriving back from the bank, he proceeds to tell you that you are NOT allowed to have company, hands me a remote control, and tells me to make sure to check out on time to get my $20 back. I arrived in the room and it smells pretty clean, but upon checking the tub, there was two long string of hair and ants walking in and on top of the tub. The next night I kilt a roach and the following night, I allowed the another one to live, didn’t feel like chasing it. The A/C barely worked but the bed was comfortable.

Not as bad as people say
Was super skeptical after reading the reviews. But honestly we got there, easy check in. Bed was not comfortable, but we made do with it. We did have ants in the bathtub, but no roaches. Rooms are a little beat up and out dated, but for the price what do you expect. As soon as we turned the tv on there was porn on it, so be mindful if traveling with children. It’s not the best area, but no one bothered us and the hotel wasn’t bothered either. I would stay here again
