‘Huggins’ is a 18th Century Miners Cottage with lovely views within the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Adjacent to our own cottage it is completely private with own drive, parking, and garden with breathtaking views towards the Malvern Hills.
Just through the front door, there is a small area for boots and coats, and to the right is a breakfast room. The door to the left takes you through into the snug. Complete with low beams, comfy chairs, a TV and log burning stove for those cooler evenings.
The kitchen is small and with more low beams but equipped with everything you require for a self-catering breakaway.
The stairs lead directly up onto a small landing. To the right is a large bathroom and to the left the bedroom with double opening windows for an uninterpreted view.
The cottage is sympathetically decorated in neutral colours and with a style to complement the area. We do have hares who live in the woods to the right and can sometimes be seen in the field to the front as well as rabbits, owl, woodpeckers, and deer (fallow, roe and muntjac). You may be lucky enough to see badgers in the garden at night.
Outside, there is a raised seating area ensuring you can make the best of the views. There is also a shed which you can use for bikes if you wish (please ask for the key).
This beautiful cottage is real rural living, with the amenities of the gorgeous old town of Ludlow 4 miles away with it’s historic castle with links to the Plantagenets and Tudors, The Food Festival (on twice a year) is Britain’s oldest, fabulous independent shops and a regular local market. Tenbury Wells is 6 miles away and has an Art Deco theatre offering small productions and screenings.
A walker's paradise and directly on miles of footpaths you don't have to go far to explore and lose yourself in nature. If you do enjoy days out we are situated part-way up Titterstone Clee Hill and only a few minutes walk from the Shropshire Way, The Long Mynd and Cardingmill Valley is 25 minutes drive, The Stiperstones and Offa’s Dyke is a little further on.
We are also well covered by National Trust and English Heritage properties nearby. The fabulous Ironbridge Gorge Museum with the Blists Hill Victorian Village, RAF Cosford Air Museum are under an hour away.
