Relax as a couple or bring the whole family to this peaceful country setting. Built during the Great Depression, the farmhouse offers modern conveniences with a nod to the past. The farmhouse has been in our family for generations.
There are three bedrooms on the second floor, however understanding the era of the farmhouse which was built prior to indoor plumbing in the country, baths were added later. Access to the full bath is via the third bedroom (the one with twin beds). The half bath is located on the first floor.
Furnishings are an eclectic mix of old and new. You will find many antiques that originally belonged to my grandparents. A stay at our farmhouse is in some ways a visit to what life was like in the country in days gone by. This is not your "typical" short term rental. There is a patina of the past here that you won't find in newer homes that are decorated with all new furniture and little else.
The farmhouse is located close to the Shenandoah River. Bring your fishing pole or kayak and enjoy the outdoors. Explore Luray, walk the meandering Greenway (a paved walk) along the Hawksbill Creek or shop and grab a sandwich at Main Street Market. Take the time to enjoy the night sky and see the stars. A drive along the Skyline Drive is a must while so near.
