Cute and Peaceful!
The rental was perfect for a group of five friends getting away for the weekend. It's in a quiet neighborhood and the lake was so peaceful! The house was eclectic with it's furnishings, was very clean, and had everything organized. The fire pit is in the perfect spot to see the sunset over the lake. We checked out the Amish store and the state park with the lighthouse down the road recommended by Lucille, which were fun stops.

A trip home
We are all quite familiar with this area and the lake. We have an annual family reunion not too far from here. This was a great place to be right on the lake to enjoy all of our down time. The place is very spacious, it had everything you need. No close by grocery, so you must come prepared! We did and all went very well! Bedroom number one was comfortable, Bedroom number two was usable, odd bed frame that moves in weird ways. Bedroom number three was used as a place to store or luggage, it was tiny with bunk beds (great for small kids). The living room area is huge and so comfortable with several big old couches. It was a favorite gathering spot as was the deck and fire pit area. Don't expect it to be glamorous, but rather usable and functional. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Beautiful sunsets
On lake Ontario, beautiful sunsets. Well supplied fairly clean. House needs upgrades. Molding comes off bathroom wall. Door nob falls apart leaving one stuck in bathroom. Beds and furniture need upgrades. Wifi password is confusing. 2 different ones. Storm door slams. Lane leading to the house filled with Chuck holes.

Unforgettable
What a great, simple cottage on the lake. If you’re looking for an escape to a quite, beautiful place this is it. The cottage isn’t too far from anything you need, the nearby towns have lovely little stores and pleasant people. The lake and the sunsets alone would have been enough but having a clean, nice place to stay right on the lake way great. I couldn’t say enough good about our stay there. We will definitely be coming back!

Relaxing Stay
Before we arrived the property owner was very nice and gave a lot of detail in the questions I asked. The check-in process was very simple and the place is cute. The best part is the backyard that is right on the water. I would go again on a vacation hear.

Sunsets and Lakeviews are not enough!
The sunset and lakeviews are memorable. House itself needed more attention: CLEANING! Owner of house actually needs to take a look at the inside of the house. Cleaning people for this house should be fired. linens for beds were damp! Some towels were damp, slip covers for the sofa needed thorough washing and drying, and there are sharp edges/ nails exposed on bottom of the sofa bed which are very dangerous and nearly caused me injury! The remote for the TV did not have spare batteries for replacement! There were stains , smudges on walls uncleaned and table tops left uncleaned, including bedside night table was filthy with leftover hairs etc. We did not sleep in the any of the bedrooms because the linens were damp, room itself was of questionable cleanliness. The owner should take personal inspection of this property.

Great Escape
This was a perfect place to get away from all the noise and busyness of everyday life. With little cell phone service and no wifi, it forced my friends and I to have conversation and enjoy a few nights of camp fires with a wonderful view of the lake. Don't forget to bring your own camp fire wood! I would definitely stay here again. My friends and I really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent Lakeside Getaway
A good place to peacefully spend a few days or more. Property was clean and aesthetic. House was neat and well kept. Neighbors were close by but quiet. Lake Ontario was nice for swimming, but I must note that swimmers need to be careful climbing down boulders to access the water. Many farms and orchards nearby to enjoy fresh produce. Also, we enjoyed the City of Rochester about an hour away, with lots to do including urban waterfalls and sand beach swimming. We had a good time. I would definitely recommend staying at this cabin for a relaxing getaway.

Wonderful lake view
Our family absolutely enjoyed our stay on the lake. We stayed outside both evenings we were there. The grill was in perfect working order, and the fire pit was great. There was more than enough room for our group of 7, and if planned right the one bathroom was not an inconvenience. It was very quiet, only saw a neighbor once, and the local Amish market suggested by the owner was fantastic.

Relaxing.
We stayed here for a girls weekend and had a great time. We especially enjoyed swimming in the water and watching the sunset. Everything was as described in the listing. I recommend bring bug spray and candles that repel bug. As the bugs like to come out at night. There is a local Amish market called Miller’s Bulk Food and Bakery. They have great burgers and cheesecake. I definitely recommend stopping buy for some. I would stay here again.

Amazing location. I’m fully satisfied with the amount of price I paid. Owner was amazing and was constantly checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The only thing that I didn’t like was they only had one small heater on living room and it’s get cold during the night. Didn’t notice any bugs and they had clean towels and linen.

Cute cottage, unwanted guests.
The cottage was cute and accurately described. It was spider infested. The outside of the house was crawling with spiders every night. They blended in with the inside carpet. I was there for a relaxing yoga and meditation filled week. I could not sit on the floor. I also could not sleep comfortably. I left early and stayed in a hotel.

Dirty and had a strong smell of septic gas. Unable to stay.
Upon arriving to the rental, you could see , at the back of the house a large hole covered in landscaping fabric. This is also where the septic lines left the house. (this reference to the property will be discussed later in this passage). Also, at one of the back windows, underneath the siding, was a very large bees nest. The house itself, inside, was left uncleaned, with the exceptions of new linens on the bed. Large amounts of hair left in and near the shower pan. Dirty throw covers on couches, dirty surface areas, etc. We stayed only a matter of hours. He smell of septic gas woke us at 2:00 a.m. and we were unable to sleep. I contacted the owner via e-mail at 4:00 a.m. At day light, I explored the property to get a better perspective on the problem. Remember that hole with landscapers fabric over it, right where the waste pipes leave the house? Well, I pulled back the fabric to find a 2-3 foot deep hole, equally wide, with standing water in it. That should not be the case. Clearly there seems to be a unresolved septic issue. I phoned the owner at 7:00 a.m. She was understanding of my concern at first and stated she make efforts to get someone our to look at the septic issue. I stated that it was not possible for my family to be in a rental with such an issue. We made the decision to pack up and leave. This put our vacation plan into quite the pickle. In the end the owner felt I was only smelling manure spread. Also, in the end she believed her "Cleaners" word over mine. The same "Cleaner" that didn't do her job and clean prior to my family arriving. What did the cleaner tell the owner? The Cleaner stated to the owner that the wetness was only the "morning dew." Boy, that is rich. The truth is the owner, whom resides far away from her properties, does not have an effective property manager, or she is clearly overlooking the condition of her property. Very disappointing to see that she would rent her property out in this dangerous condition. I real waste of our time. The owner did, immediately, refund my money. But just as quickly, relisted this toxic property.

Prepare yourself for camping not the Ritz
Was a peaceful get away. Pictures are definitely outdated. The picture with the dock is the neighboring property. There is no kayak/canoe access on the property. I’m an outdoorsman but so it was acceptable but you have to be in the mind set for camping. Storm door had no window. We took the time to clean the spider webs from the windows but it was not well maintained. All in all, it was good for a weekend camping excursion without the tent.

Great place for a quiet summer getaway
This was a great place for a quiet family vacation. The property has beautiful views of the lake. There is no beach here—just a slope with large boulders but our kids had fun standing on the rocks and fishing. We loved just listening to the waves and enjoying the outdoors. There is a state park nearby and a beach less than a half hour away.

We enjoyed our stay at this little lake getaway. We thought the property was initially more secluded, but the neighbors were closer than we expected. The lake access was not great, there wasn't a dock like the one pictured in the photograph. We brought rafts so we would recommend bringing some!

Charming little cottage right on Lake Ontario
Great for a no-frills, relaxing vacation when you just want to sit on the lake, watch the sunset, and do nothing. There’s also lake access if you are into canoeing/kayaking. There’s a great state park about 15 minutes away, and several surprisingly good wineries within easy driving distance, as well as a charming Amish store nearby that has some amazing food. One thing to be aware of (and this would go for pretty much any lakefront property in the summer) - bring lots of bug spray. If you’re properly prepared, you’ll have a great time.
