Within walking distance from many tourist attractions. Almost opposite Anton Martin Metro stop. Lots of coffee shops and small supermarkets in the area. Recommend ALL U CAN EAT Buffet, excellent value 10€ and of a visit to Santiago Bernabeu Read Madrid Stadium.
El hostal está muy bien ubicado, se puede llegar a pie a los museos más populares, zona segura. Las habitaciones son pequeñas pero confortables, todo es muy limpio y bien cuidado.
not a 5 star hotel but all good.. for the price a comfy bed and great location.

Basic but tremendous value.
Slightly cramped and no sound proofing … but no traffic noise and cool … suitable for a short stay.
Superbly central location: 10 minutes from Atocha Station (the 5 euro airport express bus will drop you there), 10 minutes from the Prado, Thyssen and Sofia art galleries, 10 minutes to the pick up point for the day excursions to Toledo, Segovia etc., 15 minutes to the lovely El Retiro gardens, 10 minutes to Plaza Mayor.
Eateries ranging from small supermarket next door … to the big tapas market of St. Miguel … also within short walking distance.
Staff very friendly and will ring up to book excursions for you.
Great price for such a central venue.
Everything was okay, but my biggest complaint was that they were not very flexible with luggage storage. They asked what time I’d like to pick up my bags. I said 1630. The lady shook her head and said she was leaving at 1530 and the next person wouldn’t be there until 1700 or 1730 (too late for me). Didn’t really give me much choice and kind of spoiled my last day in Madrid.
My single room with private bathroom was perfect for what I needed during my stay, not too small and was nice and clean. The staff were very friendly and more than willing to provide any help when needed. The location is great, within walking distance of the centre of Madrid, so everything was very close and accessible. It could be a bit noisy at night, but I found that by the time I actually went to bed it had settled down and was quiet again. I would very much recommend staying here if you are on a budget and only need something basic - particularly for solo travellers.
It was a wonderful place to stay. the staff was lovely and everything was great! Homey feel and WONDERFUL location. That being said, do NOT expect the ritz carlton because this is a lovely old building not a resort. Perfect for a value stay in a FABULOUS location with wonderful people.
Warm welcome, great service, very central area, the room was little but as oppose to the price it is more than fair

Weekend in Madrid
Weekend in Madrid.
Room is really small and without facilities like tea, coffee or anything else. Clear and quiet. Lift in main hall.
Good location about 150-200 metres to metro and 10 minutes walk to tourism places in old City. There is supermarket opposite hostel. Few coffee shops and restaurants near metro and few others just few minutes walk.
A nice hostel walking distance to metro stations and town centre, which is a big YES YES YES to me. They were very helpful with everything even when one of the caretaker on one morning doesnt soeak much english, she really tried her best. It is a basic hostel, very clean and quiet too. Would highly recommend
We enjoyed our stay in Lavapies neighbourhood which is very central and within walking distance of many sights. Also near the metro and main station, making travel easy. Great bars and restaurants near the hotel, which was clean and comfortable with very helpful staff.
Super friendly staff. Very caring about the environment. Super close to the Metro and the attractions. I will always choose this hostal when I get to stay in Madrid.
The location was perfect for walking around the city. The staff spoke enough English to communicate about check-in, check-out, and a few questions on how to find places around town.
One must take the public transit or a taxi to get there, which there are two metro stops near by.
The place was perfect for a solo traveler. The room was appropriately sized for an individual.
My only big compliant is the walls are thin, so you can hear other things going on in the other rooms and all.

In the middle of town but quiet
The room is small, basic but clean. The staffs are helpful and friendly. My general experience is good.
It is not a real hostel in the sense where you mix with other people; it was a nice little guest house. I was happy with the warm shower and TV in the room. Bed was also comfortable although the long pillow was an oddity and the pillow too soft for any use for my head. The toilet was really tiny; I sat sideways facing the door when I had to use it. Walls are thin and you can hear everything that goes on with the neighbours. They made the bed everyday but the hairs in the room and shower remained all the days I was there. The signs say they change towels every 2-3 days but I guess they think they can stretch mine for the 4 days I was there. Staff are friendly and very helpful - they speak good English too. Location is superb - you can walk to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace and even the Reina Sofia museum. There's a little supermarket right opposite and also lots of eating places around the corner. Wi-Fi is pretty stable and reliable. If your room is missing a kettle, please ask them for one.
Good location but not so much the room. I knew what I was paying for - certainly can't expect much for the relatively lower prices I paid. But was kinda misled - the website states a balcony, however the actual room was a tiny room without a window. Also, the room can't be locked on the inside and for ventilation purpose, the top was opened out towards the corridor. I felt a little insecure and would have appreciated a fair representation on the website so I can at least assess and be prepared.
