Given a terrible room on arrival looking out over a roof and an air conditioning unit that was noisy .I paid e1600 for one week half board .Expensive . Charging for the gym is shellfish that’s why it was empty.

3 Days at Sol Guadalmar Hotel
The Staff at the hotel were very friendly and accommodating. The check in was a little slow and the room that was assigned had a king bed as opposed to 2 double beds that was chosen at the time of the booking so we had to change rooms. The hotel is somewhat dated but I felt it was clean and safe. The hotel is located on the sea but doesn't have beach front lounges so we had to rent beach lounges from the restaurant located directly in front of the hotel. That was disappointing but we managed. The beach is not a sandy beach but is covered with small rocks which is a little uncomfortable on the feet when getting in and out of the sea but manageable. Regardless, we totally enjoyed the sea and spent every day in the sea. We didn't bother with the one outside pool and hot tube on the property. I noticed that the hotel also had a indoor pool but we didn't bother with it. Overall I was happy while at the resort but other then breakfast we ate at the two seaside restaurants close to the pool and then went into Malaga and dined. We only stayed at the hotel for 3 nights.

Nice beatiful hotel on the beach, very good rooms, good breakfast, safe and convinient area with nearby small grocery/convenience store. However, always need to take taxi to go to Malaga or Marbella or Torremolinos as nothing else to do but walk on the beach or short boardwalk. Staff was not very friendly

Unique location: close to the airport, direct beach access (across a pedestrian path), close to airport ($15 taxi ride). Outside of Málaga but ideal for nice retreat. Very friendly staff, buffet available 3 times a day or a la carte meals at the pool bar. Gym is $5 extra a day and outdated.

A beautiful hotel so close to the beach it has its own door to walk out on to the promenade. The staff have been very friendly, as a single travel this is very important to me as they made me feel safe and welcome and helped with any queries I had. The room has been very spacious and comfortable with the basic amenities hairdryer/tea and coffee facilities and a TV. I would love to stay again

Good hotel, right in front of the beach. Really good breakfast and outside area with pool. Beware that the gym has an extra charge (5€ per day) and has limited opening hours. Pool service for towels doesn’t work until around 11:30. Would stay here again.

Really a family beach vacation place
This place is essentially a family beach vacation resort. Right on the beach with nice pool as well. Gym was pretty old and run down. Breakfast was fine. But otherwise not really a good onsite food / drinks option. And other than the beach, little available. It’s in a residential neighborhood. But my biggest issue was how helpful they were willing to be on an early checkin. I requested in advance, but they made almost no effort when I arrived to accommodate, and front desk staff didn’t seem to care. I understand the challenge of early checkin. It would have been easier to feel ok about it after a long day of travel if they seemed concerned

It is a good hotel for kids. The kids program was really great. Special thanks to Hugo. However we found the hallways to be noisy with doors slamming. The beds were uncomfortable and small for two people. We barely slept. The AC worked but would blow right on our head. We had to turn it off at night but got really hot.

Could do better…
Bad check-in experience, with rude person accusing I didn’t book the correct number of people, which I did and had confirmation of. Bed and pillows are horribly uncomfortable. Location right on the beach is great with a cute boardwalk and restaurant behind hotel. Tennis court was ok but the net was not maintained and 2 ft. High in middle. Balls were old and no lights on court. Room was nice but trouble with AC both nights but serviced immediately.
