Friendly staff and a great location! It was clean and right across the highway from the lake. It could definitely use some updating and the bed was rather hard but other than that the room was solid. Be warned the water in the bathroom is well water. There’s a diner next door that offers a breakfast discount to motel guests and we took them up on it. Good standard diner breakfast.

Room not what I reserved. I booked the Royal King room with balcony with view of the lake. And what I was given was a standard queen because We travel with dogs. Our room was clean but tv didn’t work and room was in very poor condition. I payed 262.68 for the king room and the room we were given would have been 133.00 plus 50.00 for my dog’s totaling 182.00. That was a 80.00 different. That for me was unexceptable . I personally will not return. So be aware what your getting for you money.I thought that you would get a refund for the difference in cost but this did not happen.

We stayed overnight, as we traveled across the U.P.. We arrived late, but we're greeted in a nice and helpful manner. Check-in and check-out were quick and simple. The room was perfect for what we needed, with a mini fridge, comfortable beds, and nice linens. Bathroom was slightly outdated, but the shower felt good. Great breakfast place right next door, walking distance from our room. All in all, a nice place, and I'd stay there again.

The motel was clean and the bed was comfortable. However. There a few problems. The shower head was very low. I am 6 feet tall and it was about level with neck. There was also not latch, chain, or deadbolt on my door beyond the single lock opened with a card.

The downfall to the place was that there was not hot water. My husband did not get to take a hot shower the day that we left. The other downfall was that you were not allowed to use ice for your cooler. We went two doors down to a gas station and bought a bag but they were very chintzy on the ice. The hotel is older but it's directly across from Lake Michigan. It was very clean and well kept.

Loved the private beach across the street! Awesome clean place to crash for the night, lots of families around so felt very safe. Staff was so kind and even stayed at the Motel to help us check in even though we were running late!

Nice property; not deluxe ansolutely clean and a very good stay at a great price. Beds were firm but we slept better than at home! Check-in was fast and the proprietor was super nice and gave us coupons for the nearby casino and discount coupon for the restaurant next door, which gets great reviews. We'd definitely stay here again.

UP motor lodge
This was the second time I stayed here. I would not hesitate to use this motel again. The owners at the front desk are very friendly. This is a dated typical UP accommodation. It is very clean and serviceable. It has a nice large pool and hot tub. In the pool water was warmer than most hotels! This time I had a ground floor room with two queen beds, as I was traveling with my elderly father. In addition to the beds, there was a table with two chairs to eat at. There were also two comfy recliners, a microwave and fridge. Thank you Gray Wolf! I almost forgot the great private beach, which is just steps across the road.

It looked to be one of the nicer motels in the area from the outside, and the inside was as nice as it looked. The area is beautiful with a very pretty beach access area. Had a great stay!

Beach across street was beautiful. View from hotel limited. Rooms are adequate. Dated but clean. TV small. Lack of plugs. Lighting pretty dim. Check in/out easy and pleasant people. Restaurant next door decent.
