Comfortable and convenient. Not Contemporary
The layout, location and offerings are great, especially for a small family. It is not modern in any way, so if you are looking for a dog friendly and simple place to hang out without wanting to worry about messing anything up, this is perfect. If you want crisp, modern, or fancy, this isn’t it. We slept well, the dog was relaxed, we were able to do laundry and walk to the beach easily and into town via a lovely 5-10 minute stroll.

Cute little spot
We loved out stay at this property. We were out with family and only used this place to sleep and shower. The house is small but sweet. It hasn't been updated in decades. Beds are comfortable. Close to the beach and town. We would stay here again for sure.

I love the little brown house
This is my second time at the house, I love the house. My only suggestion is house keeping checks the dryer lint catcher. It was stuffed with lint. I will definitely stay here again.

Great location, needs updates
The home is a block from the beach and a few from the main area for food and shopping, great for walking. The home itself is older and could use some easy updates to make it a bit more comfortable. Screen door needs to be fixed. The glass is separating from the wood making for a precarious entrance and exit, we informed Vacasa about this. Beds aren't overly comfortable and the furniture is a bit large for the size of the place. It's nice that they allow dogs which may contribute to the older feel to the home. Over all, a good spot for beach access but not the best place to relax in due to the size and clutter. Especially if you have more than 2 adults,

Great location!
The place is a little basic (no closets, very tiny kitchen ), but it was fine for three adults., and a great location and deck. My only real complaint is that two of the beds are bunk beds, and it wasn’t until she was getting in bed that my daughter noticed the weight limits on the beds (200 lbs. on the bottom, 150 lbs on top). This meant she had to sleep on the couch in the living room, so I was thankful it was only 3 of us. Just be aware if anyone in your party weighs more that 200 lbs.

Kid and pet friendly.
Property is old and tired. Electrical needs total redo as plug-ins are Warren out. Coffee pots base doesn’t work. Dinning room chairs are falling apart. As is the patio furniture. But the beach was incredible.

Very tired property
Pro: One block from beach, ocean view, and a short walk to the main street (Laneda) for markets, restaurants, shops. Plenty of towels. Con: House was very tired. Furnishings for the most part were very shop worn. Another reviewer said that they looked like they came from Goodwill. That was being generous. Most looked as if they were curbside cast-offs that the owners found. This house is VERY small. No closets, just hooks on walls to hang things. There was a washer/dryer combo (fairly new), but they failed to provide any laundry detergent, although they requested that the renter start a wash on the way out. We provided some laundry soap and did several loads. There was also no broom, mop, or vacuum. While they did provide an ironing board, there was no iron. The kitchen is very small and not well equipped. The stove is at least 20 years old( Montgomery Ward went out of business in 2001.) Where do they get off providing a total of three knives, a few forks and spoons. The house can supposedly sleep up to 6; however, there are four somewhat rickety chairs at the dining table. There is a good sofa(bed). The lamps were very tired with somewhat beat-up shades. It needs a fresh coat of paint. The deck while large is very weather beaten, as is all the outside furniture. We were going to try to use the gas grill, but the rusted over propane tank was a discouraging factor. The guest book was an old beat-up binder with torn plastic inserts. The menus were a couple of years old and some were stained. There was no information provided for using the wood stove. In summary, the location was great; the condition of the house was disappointing. If you're going to run a business, put a little energy into maintaining the place.

Block and a half to beach with a decent glimpse. Space was ample. Deck pleasant. Comfortable bed and furniture. Kitchen well supplied. Car under cover. A few wall receptacle’s need replacing since plugs slip out. A modest sized coffee table by sofa would be handy

Fun little cabin close to the beach
We had a fun time at the Little Brown House. The beach is just a block away, and Manzanita is an awesome little town. Great place to get away and would definitely stay here again! A couple minor "good-to-knows": -No toaster. -The gravel of the parking area and surrounding the entrance is really sharp. Barefooters coming back from the beach could really use a paver path across the gravel to the door. -No privacy upstairs - Windows need blinds replaced. -

Had everything we needed!
We had a great time and the house had everything we needed. It was safe, clean and peaceful. We could hear the ocean from all of the rooms! Operating the TV wasn't my favorite. But then again, it wasn't why we were there! Thank you for the nice stay! We'll be back!

This was a great place for us to relax and be away from it all. The stairs were bit steep for my dog and partner. My partner also fixed the dinning room table??? that was funny why it was tilted. And it was silly that the tv/dvd is so difficult. We are both techy and smart and it should have been plug and play, but it wasn't. The toilet was also funny for 2 tall adults, but I guess there are worse things. It was fun to be away.

Great location, but too expensive
This house was fine. Lives up to expectations if the expectations are low-to-medium. Property manager was great and getting into the house was a breeze. The tiny kitchen made cooking difficult and the furniture/decor left something to be desired. But the location was fantastic and overall it wasn’t a bad stay. Just wish it was priced to match what you are getting.

Horrible air quality in the home. A smokers paradise. Grimy and dingy as well- Absolutley not worth paying money. It was December 2020 when I was going to stay a week and left after less than 24 hours. My throat was so sore after two hours there from smokers air that it made the dismal home worse. Barely any heat as the heater didn’t work well for the upstairs and an epic snowstorm was eminent. Horrible experience.

Great location. Essentials/ basics you assume are there missing
The location of the house can’t be beat. It was lovely to see and hear the ocean. And it was great to take our dogs. Kitchen is tiny and needs to be stocked with basics like salt and pepper shaker, dish towels, aluminum foil and plastic wrap. There were three forks. We also could not get the heaters to work in dining room and living room, but luckily heat rises and the heaters in the bedrooms and bathroom rose to heat upstairs with a little help from the oven heating up pizza. We brought wood but did not use wood stove. Enjoyed our weekend. If we return, I’ll know to pack like camping.

It's as bad as the other reviews say
Place needs serious investment and attention. The person responding here from vrbo about repairs, etc. is either lying or misinformed. Repairs have not been made and the furniture is broken. Table is not level, chairs broken, carpet reeks, dusty/dirty (found toenail clippings on the couch!), deck railing is a lawsuit waiting to happen. There's rustic and then there's neglected. 2 out of 10, would not recommend.

The home was outdated and had a musky smell. The beds had old mattresses that were hard to sleep on. The stove is very small so you can’t fit a large pizza in it. It was right down the road from the beach, and just a few minutes from the grocery store, which was convenient.
