Ocean view on the island of Aero.
We loved staying here on the beautiful, quiet island of Aero after spending the previous two weeks in major European cities. Jacob is a wonderful host and he is working on this amazing property right on the oceanfront. It is a work in progress on the second floor but we were on the first floor and our room was comfortable, quiet, and had an amazing view - just perfect for us, We asked for the recipe for the homemade buns that are part of the lovely breakfast offerings each morning. We want to return some day to this lovely island on another driving tour and would be happy to stay here again,

The short story--the staff does not know how to handle issues. It is extremely hot in Denmark compared to normal--upwards of 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Unfortunately, no hotel has air conditioning because they normally don't deal with temperatures this high. Although hot, the two other hotels we stayed in prior were accommodating enough to provide fans in the room and cooling towers on request. Udisgten handled things differently. Largely, check in was successful. We noticed the room did not have a fan and asked the owner if we could have one. She said if she had a fan it would be in her room and suggested we keep the window open to let in the breeze. This worked well enough during the day. However, when it came time to sleep, we noticed that our non-smoking room, in a non-smoking hotel, was situated right by the outdoor lounge area--yes, there was a little noise but the real problem was people smoking just outside our open window. The smoke could be visibly seen entering our room. My wife has asthma and issues breathing if exposed to smoke for too long. After realizing the smoking was going to go on for a while, I walked over to the office and explained the situation to one of the attendants. She said she would ask the guest to stop smoking. I thanked her but pointed out that it would probably be a recurring circumstance and asked if there was another room we could switch to. Unfortunately, they were booked up for the evening. I asked if there was a room they could switch us

Incredible views and amazing staff
We only stayed for one night. The staff was very welcoming and I felt like I was staying with my grandmother's home. It was very nice and comfortable. And the view! I can't even describe it. One downside is that there wasn't really thsy many places to eat. Definitely recommend this location. Will definitely be going back in the future

perfekt til ro, udsigt, dejlig mad
vi har vandret i det sydfynske og øhavet i 9 dage. da vi kom til Hotel udsigten i Marstal. der var heldigvis plads, så vi kunne få 2 overnatninger. super sød personale, rigtig lækkert mad. de får top karaktere fra os.

Hotel Udsigten levede i den grad op til navnet Udsigten. Den var fantastisk. Men at kalde stedet et hotel er nok et stort ord. Skulle nok kalde det pensionat eller Airbnb. Første indtryk af værelset var en hospital- plejehjemstue. Samtaleanlæg og alarmtryk var der endnu. Dørene var store træ skydedøre. Ingen tv (fælles tv i kælderen), ingen køleskab. Koldtvandsslangen var en plastikslange, som var boret igennem fra 1. sal og koblet på armaturet. Bruser kunne også trænge til et eftersyn. Sparsomt udvalg til morgenbuffet. Selvafrydning. Samlet set kræver stedet en kæmpe Make-over, men som der stod på en seddel på værelset var stedet under renovering. Men når det er nævnt var stedet pænt og rent. Dejlig personlig velkomst. Vil ikke afvise at vi vil benytte stedet igen.
