Welcome to MidCentury On Stras.

This 3 bedroom retro home is a truly unique and individual space! The spacious living area is complimented by cathedral style ceilings and natural light during the day, transforming into a cosy hideaway at night.

Two big couches in front of the fire make it easy to sit back and relax, with all the comforts of home including Wi-Fi and a smart television. The fire roars during winter, with plenty of stacked fire wood and a heat pump to ensure maximum warmth throughout the house. A large galley style kitchen has everything required for an in-house dinner party. Sleeping up to six, and located just off the town square provides an ideal retro retreat for a memorable weekend.

Please call us between 9am and 5pm, 7 days a week during your stay if you have any questions. OR after hours only in an emergency.

Walk into the square and have dinner at the Martinborough Hotel which boasts a Michelin star chef, have coffee at Neighbourhood cafe or meet the locals over bacon and eggs at Kitcheners.

If shopping is your thing, poke around in the funky lil boutique shops sprinkled around the square and grab some of the locally produced delicacies on offer.

Just half an hour's drive from Martinborough is Lake Ferry, a sleepy beach village on the shores of Lake Onoke where it empties into rugged Palliser Bay.

Go fishing with views of the South Island, try catching whitebait if you're here in spring - or just enjoy a sunset dinner at the Lake Ferry Hotel. They do fab whitebait fritters and flounder!

Dated and unclean
The location was great and the beds comfortable. However the dead bugs beside the bed and heaped under the bedside table and on the kitchen bench and windowsill was disgusting. Went to use the kettle emptied it thank goodness as the water sitting in it was white with lots of flecks of stuff in it so didnt use it. There was animal droppings on the back door step and the floors were sticky. Definately not worth the money we paid for it.

Not value for money.
Very uncomfortable dinning table and chairs. Essentially just bbq type table inside. Neither bedside lamps worked. Presumably bulbs gone in both. No towels but delivered when requested.
