cosy cottage perfect for walks and relaxing, dog friendly

Typical Derbyshire stone cottage with cosy lounge with low beamed ceiling and coal burner effect gas fire. Cupboards with games, jigsaws, lego, colouring pens and books , local info and walking maps. Wifi, television and dvd player available. I believe this is a great place to make time for yourself, friends and family, a place to relax, a place for romance. The cottage has 2 generous double bedrooms, a dining kitchen and a downstairs shower room/toilet. The kitchen opens to a good sized, fenced in, south facing back garden with patio , lawn and flower beds. It is quite private and great for al fresco dining and a dog.
The cottage is located on the edge of Crich Village, near the Stand and Tramway museum. There are lots of public footpaths nearby. Lots of off lead walks for dogs.
Crich itself is very picturesque (featured in the television series Peak Practice as the village of Cardale) and has everything you need within a 15 minute walk : 2 pubs, convenience store, lovely bakery /tearoom, traditional butcher, Indian restaurant, fish and chips , post office and even a hair dresser/ beauty salon!
Crich is only a 15 minute drive from Matlock Bath with restaurants, (esp Fish and Chips), Tearooms, Musea, Gullivers Kingdom, the Heights of Abraham and lots of small shops.
The peak district and historical sights like Chatsworth, Hardwick Hall, Keddleston Hall, Haddon Hall and many more are all well less than 1 hour drive away. Even Alton Towers is only about 1 hour drive.
There is information on lots of tourist attractions, local restaurants and walks available at the cottage. Ordnance survey maps for the brave or experienced ones...

February break
We had a great time in Crich and the surrounding area. The cottage was very warm and cosy one of the best we have stayed in. The garden was perfect for our 2 whippets to safely zoom around in. The owner was very helpful and answered all our questions about checking in etc. We would love to return in the summer to enjoy the garden in bloom. Thank you

Great cottage and location
A great little cottage which is bigger on the inside than the outside suggests. Lounge comfortable and kitchen/diner extension spacious and well equipped. Good sized bedrooms with comfortable beds. Ideal for dog owners with walks nearby and beyond. The nearby tramway museum is superb with it's recreations of a Victorian village. The next-door neighbours were very friendly and helpful. A couple of minor issues: the steps at the front could do with a handrail and the fittings for the curtains are flimsy and collapsed on a couple of occasions.

Excellent stay
Came to area to visit son and granddaughters, who live with mother in law in Ripley. I drove the 15 minutes to get them and we spent lots of time together which was lovely. Drove them home again in the evening. Location fantastic. Lovely and peaceful. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful area.
We loved this cottage. It had everything we needed and was warm, cozy and comfortable. Great attention to detail and thoughtful instructions. A short 10 minute walk to Crich Stand gives a panoramic view of the stunning countryside. In the field around the corner, opposite the Cliff Inn is a friendly Alpaca (or Llama?) That was a quirky bonus! We will definitely be back.

Good location.
We only booked for 3 days which wasn't enough for all the things to do and see in Derbyshire. The cottage was perfect for us, both in size, position and comfort and had a lovely shower room. The Tram Museum was just around the corner and a local pub, the Cliff Inn, did lovely food. We hope to visit again sometime.

We had a lovely time staying here . It was cosy, comfortable and warm . Our dog loved sleeping by the fire . We had lots of lovely walks . The cottage provided everything we needed for a cosy base for Peak District adventures , the highlights being Thorpe Cloud Hill at Dovedale and an amazing caving trip . Thanks for a lovely holiday!

Very rustic, very clean!
Enjoyed my stay in this lovely cottage. It's full of old fashioned charm. Nice modern bathroom. Spotlessly clean. Great wee enclosed garden for my dogs, and great walks for them across the road. Crich and the cottage are a great base for exploring the Peak District.

Beautiful character cottage. Clean and bright and lovely garden. Great base to roam Derbyshire :)
Such a nice place to stay. Didn't know what to expect but - 10 mins walk from the village centre, 3 mins walk from the nearest pub, 3 mins walk to Tramcar museum (excellent!), 10 mins drive to Matlock Bath (what a surprise!). Clean and kitchen leads into south facing garden. Great place for dogs - a big meadow (where dogs can be off lead) with great views about 3 mins walk from the cottage.

Lovely stay
We stayed Thursday to Sunday. Communication on our stay throughout from the owner/s was excellent. We had a family barbecue on the Saturday and the owner/s did all they could to be helpful on laying a few items on, e.g. barbecue eqipment. All materials for learning about the area were available and very useful. The cottage was clean, fresh and tidy. Crich is a lovely area and we enjoyed the walks we had near or far from the cottage. For those of you wanting television, there isn't one...however with broadband all laid on you can easily set up a tablet or laptop to see it, so it then becomes your choice. If asked would you use the cottage again, we definitely would.

Homely, well equipped, excellent location
We stayed over Easter 2017, having stayed previously in October 2016. The cottage is fabulous. It is very well equipped with everything you could want, the shower is excellent and it benefits from a nicely sized garden. There are plenty of toys for the children to play with, expecially the Lego, which was a big hit. Our children age 7 and 8, love feeding the ponies in the field opposite and adore the Tramway Museum, we visited every single day, even if just to use the adventure park. The village has a well stocked shop and bakery and two excellent pubs, the Black SWan and the Cliff Inn, would recommend both.
