Welcome to Prairie View Cabin!
** PLEASE NOTE - I no longer have access to a laundry service that is able to take care of providing clean towels and linens. Please understand that I would like to provide this service, but I am unable to. Thus, you’ll need to plan on bringing your own. I do apologize for this. We look forward to you coming to stay with us here in Hocking Hills! We would like to pass some information along to you before your stay so you can feel more comfortable during your stay in our cabins.
UPDATE: RECENTLY UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT
We are under new property management and are doing our very best to update and improve things both inside and outside of our cabins. We ask for your patience while we make improvements. However, if during your stay you find anything not operational or in need of maintenance please contact management immediately and we will be glad to address the issue as soon as possible..
For your safety we have decided to ask all renters to bring their own bedding supplies as well as towels (hot tub and shower) and washcloths. We have covered the mattresses inside with mattress bags, which are cleaned and sanitized after every stay. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you but, your health is our number one priority. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Come and explore Hocking Hills with us!

*** Please read this entire description before booking, and feel free to ask me any questions you might have! ***
This Rustic cabin is located on 5 scenic acres to allow hiking, campfires, grilling out, and just relaxing while overlooking the grand view of the prairie.
Located near South Bloomingville, OH, it is JUST MINUTES from Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, Conkle's Hollow, and many other local attractions!
Plates, bowls, pots, pans, utensils, coffee maker, toaster, and trash bags are all included.
The cabin has air conditioning, an electric furnace heater, ceiling fans, leather couch, and a large fire pit! It has beds to sleep 6 (please see below for a description of the bedding arrangement), kitchen with cooktop range, refrigerator, and microwave. Outside, there is a propane grill on the front porch. There is also ample space for a cozy campfire to roast hot dogs and make S'Mores!
Bedding arrangement: There are a total of 4 mattresses: 1 queen size bed in the bedroom (sleeps 2), 2 twin bunkbeds in one corner of the main room (sleeps 2), a pullout couch with full size mattress (sleeps 2). {Entire cabin sleeps 6 adults or more total if children stay or feel free to bring air mattresses!}. The loft shown in the images has been blocked off due to an incident - so please note that it is not usable.
Please note: We have very good feedback at my cabins, and we pride ourselves in trying to make sure folks enjoy their time with us. We will do our best to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. In order to achieve that, we want to make sure you are aware of a few items:
At times an item within the cabin might not be functional. Items such as these will be addressed ASAP by the property manager, and we will always do our best to make sure you are notified prior to booking.
Also note: The shower has a short ceiling height. We had to do this in order to accommodate the sleeping loft. We realize it’s a slight inconvenience, so please accept our apologies in advance due to this.
There is no conventional oven in the cabin, just a small all-in-one kitchen with stove top and sink. If you’d like to bring a crock pot along please feel free to do so; or the propane grill can be used to cook as well as the microwave.
The cabin packs MANY items into a small area; if you have any additional questions please feel free to ask!
We have had recent complaints regarding a window that may not lock, Please be aware sometimes, a window may fail to lock. However, ALL main entry doors are SECURE and have locks on them. We have NEVER had a security incident since we began cabin rentals in 2012. I have had many, many very happy renters. Many folks come back to the cabins each and every season. Please be sure you understand the above information before choosing to stay here. Thank you. Your booking this cabin acknowledges that you have read and understand the information contained in this ad.so please be sure to read all information prior to booking.
PLEASE NOTE - this property is located in a rural setting with open grassy areas and woods nearby. We do our best to keep pesky rodents away but at times it’s possible a rodent may have wandered in. We apologize if this is the case as we truly are doing the best to make sure the pests disappear. Just please be prepared to place all food in sealable containers or in the refrigerator so you don’t attract them even more!
In addition to small furry pests, an occasional wood roach might be wandering around a cabin. I assure you these are NOT cockroaches. Please google “wood roach”. They feed on moist damp wood. They don’t really want to be inside but they might have been carried in on firewood or wandered in looking for a mate. They don’t eat human food and they don’t want to be inside. If you find one, please either dispose of it or simply throw it outside.
When you're ready to relax, grab your favorite beverage, take a seat on the porch and enjoy the view!
Thank you for your patience as you venture out with us into the rural wooded areas of Hocking Hills!
