Remodelled duplex in exceptional location of St. Paul's Square with a bedroom and living-room balcony overlooking the Mdina cathedral. All possible amenities within. Comfortable space to base yourself in whilst exploring the glorious 'Silent City'.
The space
This property is a large duplex one bedroom townhouse within the main square of Mdina or L-Imdina, Malta's old capital city. Mdina is a fortified Medieval City of around 300 inhabitants. It is one of Europe's finest examples of an ancient walled city and is extraordinary in its mix of medieval and baroque architecture. This property is found in one of the most prominent and outstanding locations in the ancient walled city of Mdina.
Living in Mdina is comparable to residing in an open air museum. It is a perfect location for those who enjoy culture and for those who would truly like to experience residing in this magnificent city steeped in history where everything is within walking distance.
Its location cannot be emphasised enough - not only is it situated WITHIN the walled city of Mdina (not in other towns such as Rabat, Bahrija, Mtarfa or Mosta nor in the outer-limits of Mdina), but it is situated in St. Paul's Square, the main centre of his city.
The property has undergone recent renovations, adorned with contemporary furnishings. The outcome is a cozy retreat capable of accommodating four guests year-round, whether it be amidst the warmth of summer or the chill of winter. Situated amidst serene surroundings, it presents an ideal haven for a duo seeking tranquility, yet remains accommodating for a group of four, albeit with slightly diminished comfort.
For potential guest's convenience, here is a general description of the layout of the house.
It is spread over 2 floors connected by a spiral staircase.
The ground floor consists of an entrance room that acts as the dining room. A circular table dominates this room, providing adequate seating capacity for our guests. The large front door provides a readily accessible source of natural sunlight where one can enjoy one's meals.
One then proceeds into a recently re-modelled kitchen that has been supplemented with all amenities. These include a cooker, oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle etc. There is also a washing machine and an ironing board set for our guests convenience.
The washing amenities consist of a quaint shower room with a separate loo.
The top floor consists of a large bedroom and living room with a separate writing area. The main feature of this comfortable area is a spacious balcony, accessible from both the bedroom and living room, that overlooks palatial views of the Mdina Square and the Cathedral of Malta.
The large bedroom that overlooks the Cathedral of Malta comfortably sleeps 2 people, in 2 single beds or 1 large double bed (as the single beds can be adjoined together). The property can host another person in a folding bed should you be a group of 3 individuals - this folding bed will be placed in the living room or the dining area.
The living room consists of recently upholstered sofas that provide a perfect place for one to relax, read a book and simply watch the time go by, from one of Mdina's best locations. In this room we provide numerous books, maps and touristic information that all guests to Mdina will find useful. The option to sit on the balcony in Malta's glorious weather and enjoy such activities in the fresh air is a unique perk of this property.
On the top floor, one also finds a small study area, where a cosy desk is situated under a window.
The property offers additional accommodation for up to two extra guests, bringing the total capacity to four, facilitated by:
A folding bed situated in the living room, suitable for one person.
A sofa bed positioned in the dining area, also accommodating one person.
It's essential to consider that privacy might be limited for the individual using the folding bed, as occupants of the bedroom will need to pass through the living room regularly.
We will do our utmost to ensure that you will enjoy your stay in Mdina.

This has always been warmly received by our guests. We genuinely hope that you enjoy your stay at our property and will do our best to accommodate anything you request.
Environmental Contribution Payment - The Government of Malta has recently introduced a charge that is liable on all guests staying at all types of accommodation. All revenue generated from this initiative will be directed solely and exclusively to upgrade and embellish the local infrastructure in touristic areas around the Maltese Islands. The contribution is payable by all tourists/guests who are 18 years or older on the day of arrival. It amounts to €0.50c per person for each night spent at our accommodation. The contribution is capped at a maximum of €5 for each continuous stay. We are obliged to collect this contribution and then pass it onto the Government. An official and government-issued ‘Notice to Guests’ will be available at the property that further explains the environmental contribution and the reason for this charge. The exact sum due will be determined during your stay, and I once again apologise for the inconvenience.
