Friendly and help hotel staff..
The impression of Citi Hotel International at Jalan Palang Merah while I researched gave the impression that it was a 3 to 4 star hotel. It turns out to be a 2-star or lower. Fortunately, the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. One of the staff, Mr Angun, speaks fairly good English and helped with advice and arrangement in my road trip plan. The facilities in the room was less impressive as I had initially thought I'd booked a 3-star lodging. But once I tuned to the 2-star standard, the sentiment about the hotel is generally alright. The Wifi signal in the room is patchy. There is a lack of electrical point at the writing table. No clothes hanger and shower gel dispenser is quite empty, soap dispenser is completely empty for 3 days! Lack of a light at the wardrobe area to provide easier visibility. There is no kettle to boil water, however, there are water dispensers for hot water along the corridors. Another 2 more employees, of whom I didn't get their names, one was helpful in the local SIM card and data plan I needed. And another one besides Mr Angun, also speaks fairly good English as well. Breakfast was reasonable with traditional local delicacies, dough fritters, red bean paste pancakes, good old fashion sliced bread with choices of spread. With the helpful hotel staff and the various English-speaking situations, they make up for the overall positive experience.
