Other Things to Note:
False fire alarms are a frustrating problem for most buildings and are usually caused by resident behaviour (both residential and commercial). To prevent false fire alarm activations in the future, the Owners Corporation would like to take this time to educate all residents on how to avoid activating the fire alarms.
1. Cooking Fumes
When cooking anything in the apartment, do not open the apartment main
door. please only open the balcony door or windows until the fumes
have dissipated.
2. Aerosols in Common Area Bathrooms
When using any of the common area bathrooms at PM, please refrain from using any aerosol sprays (i.e., deodorant, perfume, etc) as these can activate the smoke detectors and set off the fire alarm.
3. Smoking / Vaping
Residents are reminded not to smoke or vape while on Common Property.
4. Tampering with Fire Equipment
Please read all signage installed around the building to ensure that we do not accidentally tamper with any fire safety equipment.
Please note that Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) charge a call out fee each time they respond to a false fire alarm. In instances where the fire alarm was activated by a resident or guest, the cost of the call-out (potentially up to $6,000) is on-charged to that Lot.
