3 bedroom /2 bath cabin on the brow at Eagles Roost. Beautiful 2 story cedar house with a red tin roof, perfect for an afternoon rain shower. Built from local hardwoods, this is an authentic mountain home with all the charm you would expect. Off a private road, you will find this getaway with ample den, buck stove and vaulted ceiling fully opening onto huge deck. Open the doors and this space turns your den and deck into one room. . . an indoor /outdoor living area. The deck features an 8 person hot tub , comfortable outdoor den furniture including a sofa, love seat, chair and ottoman surrounding your slate coffee table/ gas fire pit adjacent to a large teak dining table and umbrella and gas grill. In the center of the deck is a bar "overlook" that enhances the vast view of the valley and distant mountains. A small screen porch is adjacent to the dining room. Just open the double doors for al fresco dining. The next time you see an ad for Lookout Mountain vacations you will swear the pictures were taken from this very deck. Large master with king bed downstairs,700+ count sheets, down comforters and pillows, private bath and private large jetted tub. 2 upstairs guest rooms. Queen bed in 2nd guest room and queen bed in 3rd room; both share 2nd bath with private entry from 2nd bedroom. Sofa in the living room is also a queen pull out bed.
We have extra amenities that you won't find in other rentals. In the kitchen, a crock pot and pressure cooker plus everything else you need to enjoy cooking and enjoying a meal with your family and friends! 2 hours from Atlanta, 2 hours from Birmingham, 45 minutes from Chattanooga. Close to Chicamunga battlefield and Grandview. Minutes from Cloudland Park, Desoto Park, hang gliding, white water rafting,snow skiing, kayaking, mountain climbing, fishing, the quaint mountain village of Mentone AND SECONDS from your private deck.(usually a small waterfall and rambling stream on each side adds to the stress numbing atmosphere.)
Although there is lots to do around Ridgetop, many people get there and just stay to enjoy the view and privacy!

Little bit of heaven
This was our second stay in this cabin .We love everything about it .So very nicely furnished .The view is wonderful ! Its also located in a great place for restaurants .We also enjoy that its pet friendly .We like to travel with our dog .Look forward to our next visit .

We very much enjoyed out stay here. The view from the back patio is amazing. Nothing else is around so we brought food in to have breakfast and supper at the house and spent our days nearby hiking.

Clean, cozy, comfortable and so serene
The view from the house is breathtaking! The hot tub and outdoor fireplace are wonderful to experience, and the house has every thoughtful detail in place to make you feel cared for. Loved the cleanliness, freshness of the sheets and towels, and the remote location is so quiet we couldn't get enough of it. So serene, fresh air on the outside and warmth and coziness on the inside.

Beautiful View But...
The view was beautiful for sure, but the property needs major up keep and updates. If owners haven't been there in some time, you might want to go check on your property. Your fondation on the left side of the house is extremely cracked and house is shifting. We choose this place because we wanted a quiet place to do absolutely nothing and thats exactly what we did. Living room isn't really set up for binge watching tv and there were little things like the door that holds the tv was broke and laying beside it. Hot tub doesnt work properly. Buttons seem to have a short and the ones that did work, were crossed. The big tub, in the house, was nice, but the hot water runs out before you can fill it up. Suggestion: tankless hot water heater. There is gas accessibility already amd you'll never run out. Pleaae update the mattress in the master bedroom downstairs. It was just my husband and I, so really didn't use or go up stairs, but they were set up nicely. Internet wasn't the best, but expected because of the location of the cabin. Front of the house and yard definitely needed to be cleaned up. House is distinguished by a red roof, but wa a hard to tell because of how dirty it was. Great place, just needs some updating and better up keep!

Spring Retreat
To begin with, this is my 5th revision of this review. I’m starting to think someone doesn’t accept negative reviews!! First, I clicked on the address on the app, obviously I should’ve used the email one. But, your address of w•r••r w•l•on rd should have never been used! Hills Have 👀 kind of place, nowhere to turn around, if I’d had a flat or car damage I would have definitely been contacting my attorney to file suits. Then realizing my mistake, while still at the other Godforsaken place! my Mother is so frightened she can’t hardly breathe. The address was correct, but the property was disappointing. Dark, dismal, lights out with no bulbs to be found. The upstairs carpet should have been removed years ago. The kitchen had a very distinct and distasteful odor, no one could decide what it might be. We left a day early, couldn’t do another night there. I might have slept 15 hours in the 4 nights we stayed, terrible vibes in this house, as if someone was watching our every move. The only way I would ever visit that place again would be if I were restrained and forcibly hauled there.

Absolutely beautiful. We only live about an hour away, so this was just a little get away for my husband and I. It had everything we needed. The view was stunning. Saturday was a beautiful day so we opened all the doors. We got a little over run with flies which is going to happen I just wish we would've had a fly swatter for the little pest. Other than that it was perfect, peaceful, and very relaxing. Thank you for an awesome weekend.

A wonderful weekend get a way!
This place is better than advertised! The beds were so amazingly comfortable. No central heat and air though the house was perfectly cozy with wall gas heaters. The view was even better than I would have imagined. When you sit on the couch in living room, you feel like you are in a treehouse! Everything is very well kept. You feel you are a guest in someone’s well-cared for home. Huge fridge with well-stocked kitchen. We brought all our food and cooked there. The little town is about 10-15 minutes away has a tiny market for wine and snacks and any little souvenirs, but plan to come with what you need. This is a remote location, but a very easy drive. No need for four wheel drive unless it’s snowing. It was truly lovely.

Spectacular property!
We stayed here over New Years for several days and really enjoyed this property. The views are spectacular and the home was very comfortable and cozy over some cold days. We love the Mentone area. There’s some great hikes but we didn’t do as many as usual because we loved being at this property. The hot tub is great and our boys enjoyed cooking marshmallows over the fire pit. We would definitely stay here again!

Honestly Amazing
We can't say enough positive things about this well cared for home. It's warm, welcoming and amazingly comfortable! Far more than your typical rental property, this home exceeded expectation in the attention to detail in decor, supplies and accommodations. Kitchen has everything you'd need plus some. Ease of entry, lighting, heat and supplies. Huge, fluffy towels for both bath and hot tub, board games, books, dishware for pets~ literally, nothing was missed! The home sits at the top of a high ridge looking out onto miles of mountains. You cannot get enough of the exquisite view. It's very rural and secluded but while we arrived very late at night, GPS and the written directions got us there with no issues! All 3 beds were SO comfortable, which is often where owners skimp but not here! The sheets were soft, mattresses were perfect and plenty of blankets were available. Both the fire feature & hottub worked great and we enjoyed fabulous meals on the deck. Honestly, we could not have asked for a more perfect place to share a long weekend with our adult children. Big windows, big deck, enough space and seating for everyone. You will love this warm & cozy home!

Another amazing stay at Ridgetop!
This was our 3rd stay and it never disappoints! The view simply cannot be beat. The house has everything you need including a fully stocked kitchen. We cook a lot and the only thing I may have missed was a larger skillet but we made do just fine. I cooked a full Thanksgiving meal without issue. The double ovens really came in handy. I will note for those who haven’t been, the living room furniture is not what’s shown online (not a huge deal to us) and there is not currently a fenced in yard. You should also remember that you are in the middle of no where so the internet connection will not be perfect. Our whole family loves this home and we plan to return again and again.

Beautiful property, especially during leaf season. Clean, comfortable, quiet. Local places to eat, not tourist attraction, just a peaceful atmosphere. We took a trip to Chattanooga, a trip to Rome - for antiquing and enjoyed that. Best burgers and onion rings in Summerville at the Burger Shack. Really good pizza at Mentone Market.

Unpleasantly Surprised
I understand that the cabin is supposed to have a rustic feel, but there are limits. Tree limbs need to be trimmed in the driveway. My truck was scratched every time we pulled in. Most of the outdoor solar lights along the sidewalk do not work. It is extremely dangerous to navigate the walkway up and down wooden steps without light, especially while trying to carry luggage and groceries. When we walked into the cabin, which was close to 11:30 PM, it was miserably hot. We both took cool showers, but were still drenched in sweat and could not sleep. We shut the master bedroom door to try and keep the room cooler, but that also did not help. The 4 window units are just not sufficient to cool the house. Trash from previous guests was left in the bedroom trashcan, next to the wall mirror. There was also an opened bag of potato chips in the master closet, which may have contributed to the bugs we saw in the bedroom. I was unable to complete my work assignments, or send reports to clients, due to internet issues. There appeared to be an issue with the router, which we restarted multiple times, to no avail. We could not connect to the wifi and were not able to watch TV for a couple of days during our stay. The bed linens and towels were nice. Towel hooks or bars would be a great addition in the master bath, since there was no place to hang wet towels, other than on a clothes hanger in the closet. I know my review is negative, but it is an honest overview of our stay.

We had an amazing time at this beautiful cabin with our immediate family and my children whom enjoyed the hot tub. When we weren’t out sightseeing we were hanging outside on the deck grilling and taking in the beautiful view! Look forward to another vacay there.

The view of the house was amazing. We arrived at night and found it quite difficult to find the place as the GPS led us to two different. Marigold drives none of which had any signage leading us to the house. It was so frustrating for us. we ended up getting a hotel that night because we could not see the roadway off to the right Once we got in to Marigold Drive. Some signage would be extremely helpful for the next patron.

Many fails and Owners did not care to make it right
So to summarize we will still be reaching out to vrbo for some kind of compensation, but stay had issues with it with the Hot tub and cleanliness of the place and when it came down to it the owners did not take any ownership or try to make it right when asked and we tried to give them options and work with them. We came to Cloudland on a work trip, 4 adults, non-smoking and mostly working till late as it is, we checked it exhausted to a house dusty and full of cobwebs, the room i stayed in upstairs had some mystery splatter all over the door (we have pictures) not knowing if its blood,ketchup or sauce...it was a bedroom so idk None of that would of even mattered as much if the Hot tub (THE reason we booked this house) worked. It did not. The process was resetting the breakers, waiting, resetting other breakers etc. The property manager was doing a good job communicating and trying to get some one out there but it went from tub being fixed Tuesday, then Wednesday , then Thursday and we checked out Friday with not hot tub working. I get that cleanings get missed, hot tubs break etc., but when we are paying for certain things and they are not presented we would want to either be refunded or I presented the option of possibly giving us another night or 2 a discounted price. They told me i can rebook at a 25 dollar discount? Yeah . No thank you, when there is houses for 1/2 the price-HT. Property manager was awesome but owners are terrible so sadly i would avoid this home again

Family Vacation
The booking and check-in process was hassle free. It was me, my husband, my two sons, one of my son's fiancée, and their two dogs. The house is right off the main road but feels very secluded, which we wanted. It was absolutely adorable and very well equipped. It had plenty of room for the 5 of us. Our favorite thing was that view from the back deck (WOW!). That is where we spent our time if it was not raining. We did have a rain shower every day we were there. The only slight issue we had was when it rained and we had to be in the common area, where the TV is. There was not enough comfortable seating for 5. Everyone likes to kick back when watching TV but the chair and rocker were not really that comfortable. They are not shown in the pics of the house on VRBO. If you like eating out a lot then this might not be the place for you. You do have to drive 15 or minutes or more to get food and there isn't a large variety that is close. We cooked breakfast every morning before we went for a hike. We ate at local restaurants after our hikes, then brought snacks back to the house for late evenings. We did hikes at Cloudland, Desoto Falls, and Little River Canyon. They were all beautiful. This was by far our best VRBO rental. We would definitely rent again.

Ridgetop is superb.
The veiw from the deck is awesome. The rustic, wide-open feel of the.living space adds much to the relaxed feel of the mountains. Hot tub and fire pit are great additions to the experience. The bed was comfortable. We didn't use the loft area, so unsure about other beds. The kitchen had what we needed. Awesome.place to stay for a getaway.

June Jam Vacation with a View!
Stayed at the Ridgetop cabin over Alabama’s 17th June Jam weekend. Easy find, beautiful drive into the cabin and to Fort Payne. We enjoyed each meal on the porch overlooking the most beautiful valley. Comfortable, everything we needed especially the peace and quiet, looking forward to another weekend stay and so thankful they are pet friendly fkr the rest of our family.
