Accommodation In Merek

Considering there is just 1 hotel within a 10 kilometres of central Merek, it's worth booking a room early, so as to avoid disappointment.

Merek is not exactly regarded for being the accommodation capital of Sumatra, however the Taman Simalem Resort is close enough to the downtown buzz to keep most travellers happy.

25 kilometres from the heart of Merek is the Sinabung Hills Berastagi. Another alternative is the Grand Mutiara Hotel, which is 25 kilometres away.

Looking to explore a bit further afield? Sumatra offers many other attractions. Check out the traditional villages and historic palaces in Sumatra, and also enjoy its beaches, jungle and rainforest. Or join the locals in the mountain climbing and hiking while you're here.

Parapat is 55 kilometres to the southeast of Merek and is where you'll find the Parapat Point and Parapat Wharf. The Pandu Lakeside Hotel Parapat - Toba Lake and Inna Parapat are a few of the great accommodation alternatives in Parapat. Medan, which is home to the Miyana Hotel and Cordela Hotel Medan, is 85 kilometres to the north of Merek. If you stay in Medan, be sure to check out the Sun Plaza, Medan Mall and Vihara Borobudur.

Situated 330 kilometres away from Merek is Penang International Airport. Stay nearby at the OK Hotel or the Fig Tree Hill Resort.

Taman Simalem Resort
Incredible Forest with nature sounds
5 / 5
This is amazing hotel located on the hills of Lake Toba, it takes around 4 hours from Silangit airport and 5 from Medan. If you like nature and relax away from buzzy cities this is your spot, also inside the property are plenty activities to do as you are isolated in the middle of the forest. With incredible landscapes similar to Scotland this hotel was recomended for some friends who visited few years back. Staff makes your stay unforgettable. Food options are limited to Indonesian, however inside the hotel facilites are food trucks and mini mart where you can opt for western alternatives. You need 3 days at least to annoy here actually the hotel has his own waterfalls and cliff if you are an avid trekker. Solos, families and friend will enjoy, not to much teenagers but there is karaoke in case. Internet speed is good. English wide spoken. You can book tours to samosir, berastagi and piso piso; also Tongi village, it will take few hours and I got little dizzy going down by those curved hills, But views are impressive, Also my driver was great Facilities are not 5 stars but within Indonesia impressed me!
