Beautiful house with breathtaking scenery
The check-in process was smooth and great. João was really helpful and available to give us all needed information for our stay. The place was clean, well equipped and had a wonderful view of the Douro valley. We really enjoyed our stay and I think this wonderful house added to our enjoyment of Portugal as a whole.

Fabulous Farmhouse
This is a superb and special place with incredible views, very spacious, immaculately clean and well appointed. The private swimming pool with a great sun deck is an added bonus. A bit hard to find at first but we’ll worth the effort. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Douro River View Villa
A lovely, well equipped villa overlooking the Douro river and vineyards. Clean, comfortable and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the views. A bit of a tricky drive but we’ll worth the effort.

Beautiful property in the amazing Douro valley
We had a wonderful time in this amazing hoyse. It has everything you could need. The outside terrasses are marvelous. Great bbq area. We enjoyed the pool as well. Renting this property is an experience not to be missed!! Thank you Joāo for your warm welcome! Hope to come back some day!

Quiet, spacious, clean, enjoyable, fantastic view
We really liked staying here. The town of Mesao Frio nearby is wonderful, has everything you need. The train station at Rede is very convenient. We used the pool every day. We will love to stay here again. Thanks Joao for such a nice house.

Beautiful location, but quite challenging to get to
This is an idyllic place to stay, especially if you want to relax by the pool. It is however very challenging getting a car up to the property, there are also a lot of steps to get up to the villa. The villa itself is spacious and comfortable, my only gripe is that kitchen utensils were sparse if you plan to cook meals. We enjoyed the covered patio area which was nice for eating outside with a good barbecue. The area around the pool was also very nice. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here.

Pictures make it look Good - BUT!!
OUTSIDE. The website pictures for the Pool & Terraces do not lie,all good,and then? 19 STEEP STEPS from car with luggage or - 2 x 6litres bottles of water is a real effort in strength & balance, oh yes there are also more steps to the Terraces & Kitchen. The punishment the car's clutch receives in getting to the property needs caution,the road is STEEP, the final turns are very tight and STEEPER,it's easy to stall the car! The first left turn is IMPOSSIBLE,pass on by,stop before the cliff,turn around on ANOTHER STEEP slope and attempt again!! turn into the property and imagine driving up a Helter Skelter. THE KITCHEN. Firstly, there are 9 steps from dining table to the kitchen. A smell of GAS from the stove was a concern,the Oven NEVER got to a required temperature and the under-sink cupboard had a Sanitation Odour! The Owner believes this to be natural for the area and that we have never lived abroad before! Caution when using the sink,it is very easy to bang your head on the upper cupboards,(they also need alignment.) The Washing Machine is housed under the stairs where it should stay due to it's Rusty Body! LOUNGE/DINING ROOM. The 2 sideboards with cupboards were locked.The Writing Desk with Glass Cupboards above was also LOCKED but has the games,books,pliers and broken lock INSIDE!! The Grundig Stereo is probably Antique,unplugged for L.P.'s & Cassettes only (if it ever works?) STEREO is quoted. The 'Mitsai' Flat Screen T.V. was good connected to an array of Foreign Satellite Channels. INTERNET or INTERNET ACCESS is only available at a further charge per day on a 'take-it-or-leave-it basis,we took it everywhere, as it's a Vodafone Hot-Spot,(handy) The Dining Area light has 2 bulbs missing as does the lounge light (economy measures perhaps) The Dining Table opens out? (did not use) BEDROOMS. There are 4 further televisions in the house,all old shape,2 did not work,(perhaps a valve problem) After climbing the 19 steep steps from the car it is a further 22 steps to the Master Suite which is large with a nice bathroom.Unfortunately for us the Mattress is HARD and the ants had to be 'gassed' the next day. To carry a 18kg suitcase to that bedroom took two people with 2 stops! We moved to the lower bedrooms with smaller,shorter beds with more tolerable mattresses,again light bulbs removed. The sink plug in the lower bathroom NEVER closed. THE TOWN. Mesao Frio is compact, Saturday Market, 'Tasca do Zequinha' Restaurant highly recommended for price.

Inoubliable séjour au Portugal qui restera longtemps notre plus belle destination de vacances. Vue panoramique de la maison comme sur les photos mais à vous couper le souffle en vrai . On ne s’´en lasse pas … le lever du jour vue de la maison est une expérience unique ! Notre hôte João a été bienveillant dès notre arrivée et très à l’écoute durant tout le séjour . La maison est décorée avec beaucoup de goût et la propreté des lieux très agréable. Aussi beaucoup d’espace à l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur … une sensation de liberté omniprésente.

Beautiful house with very nice view!
We had a wonderful stay in this villa. The villa was very clean. The house was nicely decorated and fully equipped. We especially liked the swimming pool and the terraces. The Douro Valley is beautiful! There are a lot of possibilities for trips, such as Porto, Braga or the Paiva Walkways. The communication with João was also very good.

Vue exceptionnelle sur la Vallée du Douro
Très belle et grande maison au milieu d'un jardin , de plusieurs terrasses et d'une immense piscine surplombant la majestueuse Vallée du Douro. La propriété entière est d'une propreté irréprochable. Avec ma famille, nous avons passé des vacances inoubliables, nous en avons pris plein les yeux, la semaine est passée très rapidement entre la découverte des environs et le farniente au bord de la piscine. Merci à Joao pour son accueil et sa gentillesse, comme il nous l'a dit "Toute cette semaine, ma maison est la votre, alors enjoy, j'espère ou plutôt je pense revenir très prochainement chez Joao.

Casa muito limpa e bem equipada. Bem localizada e com uma vista fantástica! O facto de termos a casa e respetiva piscina só para nós e de estarmos isolados dos vizinhos permite a privacidade ideal para umas férias entre amigos ou em família. Fomos muito bem recebidos e acolhidos e o João mostrou-se sempre disponível para qualquer coisa.

Quinta localizada em pleno Douro, qual paraíso na terra! O João é, sem dúvida, um verdadeiro anfitrião: sempre disponível e muito acessível. A casa está muito bem equipada e não falta mesmo nada. O churrasco e o espaço ali concebido para refeições são ambos fantásticos; a piscina (e já estive em muitas, privadas), impecavelmente tratada e com uma qualidade de água superior; vou guardar na memória a imagem, daquele anfiteatro maravilhoso em sucalcos vinícolas que tranquilizava a mente, ao mesmo tempo que tomava uns banhos de sol. Bem, nesse particular e, completamente contra o habitual clima para a época/semana de Agosto, houve uns dias chuvosos. Mesmo assim, sem qualquer hesitação, voltaríamos lá em circunstâncias climatéricas idênticas. Note-se, ainda, e neste enquadramento de Covid19, a perfeita higienização de toda a propriedade. Não faltou nada e, volto a insistir, a área exterior, envolvente é um privilégio! O nosso sincero obrigado! Pedro Guimarães

Un séjour parfait
Tout d'abord, merci beaucoup à João, pour son accompagnement avant le séjour (fermetures des frontières, COVID-19, solutions de replis …) et pendant. Il a été en tous points parfait. Le séjour a été génial. La maison est totalement conforme à la description et très bien équipée pour nos besoins. L'extérieur est très très bien et permet de profiter du paysage. La piscine est agréable et nous avons pu en profiter car bien orientée et de grande taille. La situation géographique de la maison nous a permis de rayonner sur Porto, Guimarães, Braga et autres. Une location à laquelle nous pourrons à nouveau faire appel, avec un réel plaisir.

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine dans cette maison. Les photos sont en tout point conforme. Elle est propre, confortable. La chambre parentale est vraiment spacieuse et les 2 autres chambres sont plutôt grandes aussi. La cuisine est pratique. L exterieur est soigné, le coin terrasse du haut agréable pour manger, quasi tout le temps à l ombre et la piscine...rien à dire ! Effectivement il y a des escaliers mais si on n a pas de problème, ce n est pas gênant. Et il est vrai que le chemin d accès est assez surprenant voir impressionnant au debut mais c est une question d habitude (même avec une voiture à boîte manuelle). Le propriétaire est arrangeant pour les horaires d arrivée et répond très rapidement si on envoie un message. La région est très belle.
