Amberfold Lodge, Heyshott near Midhurst

Private lodge in grounds of a charming 17th century listed property, situated in beautiful heathland landscapes on the outskirts of the village of Heyshott, only 10 minutes drive from historic Midhurst and 15 minutes from Petworth.

The Lodge is equipped with large double bed / sitting room, adjoining small kitchenette including fridge,cooker and microwave, and a separate wet room with shower. There is also a TV and Wifi.

In the heart of the South Downs National Park, with local walks right on the doorstep. The South Downs way is a couple of miles away and the Serpent Trail is 100 yards away. Mountain bikes are available for hire locally.

The Lodge is a great base for Goodwood (7 miles), Cowdray polo (3 miles) and local attractions such as Cowdray Park ruins, Petworth House, the Weald and Downland museum, Chichester and the Coast.

Bikes are available to hire via a local contact who will deliver bikes to Amberfold ready to hit the road or trail.

There are several local pubs serving good food and beer including the Unicorn Inn a mile away in Heyshott village, as well as an variety of bars and restaurants in Midhurst and Petworth.

Minimum 2 night stay.

Amberfold Lodge is a lovely cottage. Beautifully clean, warm and cosy and a lovely comfy bed. The walk in the woods behind is so peaceful. The Owners are very welcoming and helpful. This is our second visit and we will be back again.

The hosts, Jon and Tanya were very welcoming and on hand if we needed anything. The lodge was warm and comfortable, and in a lovely, secluded spot where you could hear a pin drop and with no light pollution, so there is an unspoilt view of the night sky. A lovely stay.

Lack of care
cleaning of property left a lot to be desired, bathroom walls dirty, cooker door full of grease ( pic taken ), cobwebs on windows, mattress 18 years old ( pic taken ) springs poking through, for a couple staying only 4 coat hangers in wardrobe ( pic taken ) a total lack of the personal touch throughout, old metal table and chairs outside could do with a lick of paint, overall would not recommend untill things corrected .

Amberfold is a brilliant little cottage in a quiet countryside setting. Hosts were excellent with lovely personal touches eg milk in the fridge, access to gardens and herbs in the herb garden. Will definitely come back!

It's an ideal place for a couple, all essential equipment, facilities . Friendly welcome by owners
Bigger sign amberfold would make it easy for first timers to the area. Mrs ward was very helpful and shared some local info, walks and also venue we were attending my niece's wedding. Nice gesture of milk in fridge on arrival for a welcome cup of tea.

Amazing holiday in Aberfold Lodge, near Midhurst, South Downs National Park
Myself and my wife are just back from a fantastic stay at the Amberfold Lodge, near Midhurst, in the heart of South Downs National Park, where we celebrated our 30 year anniversary. Very beautiful place , peaceful, relaxing, a absolutely perfect escape from the hectic life in London, and it exceeded our expectations! Location was absolutely great and we went for lovely walks and enjoyed some of the most beautiful sites of the countryside in the South Downs. Had all the things you need for a great weekend away, very well equipped, great info on where to go etc, very comfortable and cosy little cottage.
